By Toni Hassan, published 26/1/2012

When four young Aboriginal men, Anderson among them, erected a beach umbrella (and later a donated tent) and called it the Aboriginal Tent Embassy they got the national media's attention.

"Where to now" butcher?

This question has perplexed all Australians for a long time, and no one has got the answer right, right?

One thing is sure, unless we (all Australians) are prepared to work together on the answer/s - rather than play politics and race, as they do - there will be no resolution.

The events of Australia Day 2012 (for want of a better word) have again set back the time for resolution - no one should take solace in that. It was and is a disgrace that all Australians should feel shame about, despite any justification to the contrary.

Personally, I believe it is a measure of society (its culture, its people, its maturity, its justice, its development) on how well they treat the most disadvantaged in their society. But yes, there should be a return on investment.

While there is a measure of truth in what you say (not all) I feel very uncomfortable with your undertones and where that might lead.

.

For runner:

Your comments belie you as an example Christianity, I am not surprised at your hypocrisy.

I would be extremely concerned should I have the endorsement of a moral relativist

there was a guy..[i got the paperwork...
it was hanging in the 3 rd museum]..i think he was a williamson

anyhow he was pure blood law man
he walked to the opening of parlement house[3 days]

he protested there from before it was opened
he used to sit..under that king staute

[that used to sit opposiste..main entry
opposite the steps..of old perliment house..but was moved off to the side..in front of the tennis courts now]

anyhow the members hated being remibnded of the joinder
or that first protester...and the king

just sitting looking at them
watching his patch...the market place
watching as the scum stood upon the holies of holies

the birth place of eve
who's birth waters still moisten the holy ground

those idiots who think ya can move holy places arround

to tell the giovener general
to stand
*her troops down

tell her
to surrender her colonial powers

over the instrumnent
of colonisation[the armed forces]

OUG,

It could be that you are onto something:

'that we return
to aborigonal time
not nessisarilly origonal ways '

- yes, Stone Age cultural practices may have a lot going for them. After all, ALL of our ancestors were at one time hunters and gatherers, scavengers and foragers, so it can't have been all bad, and the Stone Age lasted so long. And as we know, the longer something lasts, and the slower things change (preferably not at all), then the better they are, from one point of view. Pity it's a reactionary point of view, the very essence of conservatism which so many on the Left are currently in love with.

Yes, when you think about it, it probably wasn't that bad for many of our ancestors, gallivanting around the hills and dashing through the heather in a northern Scottish winter, chasing those blOOdy capercaillies, covering ourselves in mud for warmth, fighting every other clan group over the next hill, eating each other - ritually, of course, spiritually even - fashioning weapons and tools laboriously out of stone (hey, it WAS the Stone Age), worshipping rocks and appeasing fairies.

And then those bloody Romans come along and spoil it all. B@stards !

Yes, bring back the Stone Age ! No change for forty thousand years (except during those Ice Ages) can't be all bad.
