Voters are not that gullible.

Bandt chooses to ignore advice the not all corporations who don't pay tax are crooks; they simply don't make profits, or not enough profit, to pay tax on. All governments like tax and, any tax available would have been collected long before Bandt started his neighing and snorting on the subject. This bloke is probably confusing turnover with profit, so ignorant of the real world of business is he.

Yuyutsu,

See what I mean about the useful (maybe that should be useless) idiot being unable to answer your question, and just chuntering on about 'references'. For heaven's sake! What a dill! The media has been full of it. It is simply beyond belief that any sentient adult human being in Australia has not heard about the Green Senator's ravings, see them, or read about them.

Had a neighbour showing me some news articles today relating to the Darwin Harbour 99 year lease to a Chinese company. This deal was made during Morrison's time by a Liberal who apparently resigned from his position in the Govt to take up the managing of the Harbour etc.
Anyone have more detailed info on this inexcusable stuff-up ?

*…Yes, it is called "elections": if I don't vote I will be fined…*

Well I never, as they say.

You don’t have to vote.
You do need to register your appearance at the voting booth or risk a fine, ( from memory that is $150 last I enquired).

There are two escape routes to achieve a non-vote: one is the cowards way AKA “Donkey vote”, the other is to divide the ballot paper in two by tearing it up. ( my preferred method): That will render it unusable for any ingenious fraudster working in the booth to resubmit it.
Another way is to commit a crime which puts you behind bars for over twelve months, then you’ll be ineligible to vote.
But if you really don’t wish to vote and are wealthy enough, pay the fine for not turning up to cross off your name.

I think your not being honest with yourself Yuyutsu, with the above statement. Deep down you want to matter in the scheme of things, that’s obvious.

Dear Paul,

«ttbn made a claim in his opening post attributing something to Greens Senator Jordan Steele-John.»

That is his thing, not mine. I don't personally need to know any names or what this or that idiot said to that or this idiot: all that matters from my side is that next month I will be required to list down a permutation of all Australian political parties (or else be fined) and in order to produce the least harmful permutation, I need some information.

One particular piece of information that I need is, what (in your best estimate) will the Greens, if they come to power, do about defending Australia from the Chinese threat. I thought that since you are member of that party, it will be best if I can hear it directly from you.

«Greens policy is to tax the big end of town and the multi-nations who plunder this country»

And I happen to concur, but this is not what I asked you - I was asking specifically about the Greens policy to have an inheritance/death tax.

---

Dear Ttbn,

«It is simply beyond belief that any sentient adult human being in Australia has not heard about the Green Senator's ravings, see them, or read about them.»

Well apparently some people have a life of their own...

---

Dear Dan,

«the other is to divide the ballot paper in two by tearing it up.»

Same as registering at the door then leaving.
But will you be doing so openly, either walking away or tearing the ballot paper without caring in the least that the officials might see you?
Otherwise you would be hiding a little secret and walk out like a thief, which is not to your spiritual advantage.

«Deep down you want to matter in the scheme of things, that’s obvious.»

Yes, but you must be aware of the prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
