Funny how in Mr Opinions video link on Bankstown, not one dog to be seen !

Funny, when I was a kid there, when it was mostly paperbark bush, we all had dogs, often more than one. Sometimes when we rode off to school on horseback after the milking, they would follow us, until we pelted them with rocks and they slunk home. Great fun.

Mostly they got skittled on the road - I lost two that way. I haven't been back in nearly seventy years, but I'm betting that it's a bit more built-up, with less room for dogs. Except maybe the Greens' chihuahuas in their baskets.

Do you confuse Chinese with Vietnamese and Thais and Indonesians and Koreans and Japanese too, like our Village Idiot ? He would say, "They all look so much alike, don't they ?"

Lovely kind people in my experience, good workers too, getting on with life and not too attached to any foreign government.

Albie, an odd comment there, BTW its Koreans who eat dog, Cabramatta is predominantly Vietnamese. The shops in the video showed, appeared to be clean with a good variety of well presented produce at what today would be considered reasonable prices. When we lived in Sydney we preferred the Asian butcher and green grocers to their Aussie competition. The Asian shops were superior on quality and price.

The streets in those burbs were particularly clean and graffiti free, the people seemed ordinary law abiding citizens, what else do you want?

It's funny you should say that about no dogs in Bankstown because in Sydney on the North Shore which is typical core Sydney there were brush turkeys everywhere - up until recently that is.

Yummy . . . . . . Brush turkey congee.

I've never had it myself but I reckon it must be pretty good.
