Belly,

As I said anything appropriate, but you and the law forbid the elderly, and anyone else, from having ANYTHING for the purpose of self-defence.

Paul,

I have been against weapons capable of projecting hurtful material, such as brake fluid, vinegar and other acids etc. since before the current gun laws.

Do a bit of research and you'll find out the harm that they can do.

Appalling stuff.

not sure how you include me in your war to arm every one
Never proposed any thought against it
Buy yes am against it
Tell me, honestly, that 91 year old can't even remember the attack
How could she defend herself
And tell me, if caught, the offender [who targeted her because she couldn't fight back] should not serve time for that

Belly,

"not sure how you include me in your war to arm every one"

When have I ever said that I want to arm everyone?

Issy,

For argument sake, please tell, of those aged 65 and over, who should be licenced to own a firearm for so called self protection?

Paul,

Anyone who meets the lawful requirements but as there are no lawful
requirements, i.e. no one is allowed to possess anything for self-defence, then, legally, no one.

I'll keep my walking stick.

Sidestepping there Issy, given a change to the law on self protection, would the majority be given a licence?
