They are illegal in NSW and Vic, but legal in Qld and SA where they are classed as a "projectile toy" sounds like a sex aid. Its my understanding that in Qld, if caught in public with your 'Jelly Blaster' you may be charged with the offence of "causing public fear". It looks like the morons in Queensland and SA who own a 'Jelly Blaster' will have to be satisfied with taking pot shots at mum, the kids and grandma as they watch the telly in the lounge room. Dodge City here we come!

Well, the answer is that to protect the elderly with immediate response would be too costly and frankly we elderly are not economically worth the expense.

To overcome this aspect of the problem the elderly should be allowed whatever means of self-protection that is appropriate to their circumstances.

It boils down to the facts that if the State won't spend the money then those immediately concerned should legally be allowed some form of self-defence.
