Past week, nearly every week has been one of home invasions and bashing of elderly homeowners
And after arrest you can be forgiven if you think the people arrested are the victims not the other way around
Why are the gutless younger people targeting the aged
Why are we not protecting our elderly
Maybe if we consider recent court out comes we will start to think about these questions

The elderly (I'm one) are not attacked as much as other age groups because we don't go out at night getting pissed. It seems that we are most at risk in nursing homes.

As for the lack of proper penalties, that complaint extends to all crimes and misdemeanors that come before our pathetic, cowardly judiciary.

The separation of government and judiciary has gone too far. Governments should be able to remove judges and magistrates who continually fail to hand down appropriate sentences.

We could allow the elderly to possess the means of defence within their own homes.

Dear Belly,

The reasons for these violent crimes could be
results from social disasters involving
broken families, drug abuse, poor education,
and unemployment - that has affected a small
segment of our youth in our poorer suburbs.

These people may possibly feel that even if they're
arrested they're not losing much. They don't see
a reason to adopt society's values, for society
offers them nothing. They get no nearer to affluence
or success than what they see on their TV sets and
therefore self-hate erupts against those around them.
The elderly are easy targets.

Training, education, community involvement, could go
a long way in saving some of these kids. Pointing them
into a different direction. Also sending them into the
army - may give them some discipline and purpose.
Whereas - giving them harsh jail
sentences is only a short-term solution. It may also make
things worse by turning them into hardened criminals.

As for elderly abuse in nursing homes. That needs
investigation by a Royal Commission. It needs to be nipped
in the bud and not tolerated. Strict legislation and
protections need to be put in place - especially in the
hiring of adequate, experienced, and qualified staff.
And staff numbers per patient ratios. If staff shortages
are inadequate to cope with patients and the work load -
abuse will and does occur.

are inadequate...

Foxy let me tell you a secret, while assisting youth in trouble, a young man in his mid twenties told me this
Quote, in prison and out, some of us invent bad childhoods and upbringing, it has become both a defense and excuse, for our failures
He by the way had as it turned out no intention of changing his ways
ttbn my thoughts when posting this, while aware thousands of ATM assaults take place every years was home invasion
A couple in bed early morning, two youths kicked the door in,ran up the stairs and held a knife at the wifes throat
Forcing the husband to open a safe
Fear,it haunts even some aged folk who have never been victims
And for some who have, ends normality in their lives forever
I have a question, for those who wish to answer
Those people from broken homes broken lives who inflict this fear,
We, most, want to consider why they commit such crimes
Are we any less interested in the fear and dread of their victims,? if so why, who is more important.
