The latest lurk to get into Australia is revealed in a report that Punjab police are investigating a brother-sister duo, believed to be currently living in Australia, who are accused of forgery and marrying each other in order to get Australian visas. The pair stole their cousin's identify and forged documents to gain an Australian spouse visa. The male already had permanent residence in Australia.

Yet, The Department of Home Affairs still claims that all identity documents of spouse visa applicants are thoroughly checked and verified with relevant authorities of the issuing country, where required!
