Dear Paul,

You're spot on with "The Daily Mail."
It has been widely criticised for its
unreliability as well as printing of
sensationalist and inaccurate scare stories,
and copyright violations.

Anything it prints should be questioned.

Foxy Belly You both lack the ability to pick out truth from fiction, the Mail has lots of rubbish BUT will touch stories others won't because of who owns them etc. Try evaluating a story to ascertain if it is true or rubbish.

Foxy just for you.

Youths have glassed a young man, bashed others and robbed beachgoers of their belongings during a horror night on a Melbourne beach last night, which coincided with police being pelted with rocks in the western suburbs.

A series of incidents throughout the night at Chelsea Beach, in Melbourne’s southeast, culminated in what witnesses said was a series of crimes committed by a group of teenagers of African appearance.

This saw unattended belongings stolen from the beach at about 9.30pm.

A man reportedly saw them and confronted them, before being assaulted. According to 3AW, the youths then fled.

Three men, aged 25, 28 and 30, were later approached, assaulted and the attackers stole a mobile phone.

A 19-year-old man reportedly had a glass bottle smashed over his head, and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Victoria Police are holding a press conference about the matter this morning.

This comes after six youths were arrested over an unrelated brawl and a separate robbery in St Albans, in the northwestern suburbs, that took place on Christmas Eve.

Those arrests followed Facebook posts urging vigilante groups be formed by members of the Vietnamese community to battle what was claimed to be increasing violence by youths of African appearance.

The arrests were made after police were called to the Sunshine train station where they found a large group of youths at 10.30pm last night.

“While police were arresting the teens others from the large gathering started throwing rocks at police, injuring one officer from the Public Order Response Team,” a police spokeswoman said.

Two of the arrested males were believed to have been involved in the December 24 brawl, while four were allegedly involved in a robbery in St Albans on December 19.

I remember there was an OLO thread a while back that confirmed (from the lefties own information) that the ABC and the commercial stations both had 70% left leaning employees- however the proportion of Greens Voters (Green Trotsky's) within the ABC was much higher than the commercial stations. Therefore removing the ABC from the media landscape could have the effect of a less biased media.

Detectives investigate incidents at Chelsea beach
Friday, 28 December 2018 12:41

Kingston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a number of youths following assaults and robberies at Chelsea beach last night.

It is believed a group of youths were involved in three separate incidents on the beach at Swansea Road between 9.30pm and 10pm.

Investigators have been told a number of swimmers were in the water when the group approached their unattended belongings on the beach.

A male swimmer confronted the group and was assaulted before they fled taking mobile phones and purses.

A short time later the group approached three men and assaulted a 28-year-old man and stole his mobile phone.

The other two men, aged 25 and 30-years-old, were also assaulted.

The final incident occurred when the group approached a 19-year-old man sitting on the beach.

He was struck in the head with a glass bottle and assaulted with a plastic cricket bat and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The offenders were perceived to be African in appearance, aged in their late teens or early 20’s.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the incidents.

Youths arrested following affray and robbery in St Albans
Friday, 28 December 2018 09:57

Police arrested six youths in Sunshine last night following an affray and robbery in St Albans earlier this week.

The arrests came as police were called to Sunshine railway station in relation to a large gathering of youths just before 10.30pm.

At the scene police identified two males believed to be involved in an affray that occurred on Alfreda Street on Monday 24 December and four males believed involved in a robbery on Wednesday 19 December, both incidents in St Albans.

While police were arresting the teens others from the large gathering started throwing rocks at police, injuring one officer from the Public Order Response Team.

The six males are currently in custody and are expected to be charged in relation to the affray and robbery with five to be presented at a children’s’ court and one to Sunshine Magistrates Court this morning.

Brimbank detectives also executed two warrants this morning in Brookfield and Keilor Downs in which a further two 16-year-old boys were arrested in relation to the robbery and affray respectively.

It is expected the pair will also be presented at a children’s court this morning.

Investigations into the assault of the police member are ongoing.
