Belly -

So on tonight's news Shorten is moving forward on his policy and has ignored ASIO's advice.

So, if ASIO are advising Shorten that his policy is not in the best security interests of Australians, and he ignores ASIO's advice - do you seriously believe we will back him and his "security destroying" policies for safety of all Australian citizens?

Getting desperate Phil, still providing links to the UK's 'Daily Trash', I see. Nothing like a beat up is there to get the misinformed on side.

Anything to say about Dud Dutton wanting to fast track possible murderers from South Africa into Australia?

Before they voted on that bill the Government offered crossbenchers a security briefing by Operation Sovereign Boarder officials today.

The ABC confirmed Lower House MPs Rebekha Sharkie, Andrew Wilkie, Bob Katter, Ms Banks and Dr Phelps declined that offer.

The ABC understands Greens MP Adam Bandt was not invited but would not have attended if he had.

Crossbench senators Rex Patrick, Tim Storer, David Leyonhjelm and Derryn Hinch declined to attend. Centre Alliance senator Stirling Griff offered to send a staffer to represent him.

The Government offered various times for the briefings with Home Affairs chief Mike Pezzullo and Operation Sovereign Borders commander Air Vice Marshal Stephen Osborne in an attempt to overcome scheduling issues that prevented crossbenchers from attending.

So these so called representatives of the people could not even be bothered attending a meeting to get possible critical information that is not publicly available.

SteeleRedux Quote "Just how many convicted rapists or murderers are there in our detention camps?" That could have been one of the topics of the Government briefing the politicians did not go to. There have been reports of rape etc in the camps, but Government does not release figures.

Quote "The boats are still coming. They are mostly being turned back because of the naval capacity we have in the area not because of our terrible treatment of children."

Wrong there have only been approx 33 boats turned back in the past few years. They mostly stopped because the smugglers could not guarantee they would stay in Australia, instead shipped off to an Island.
But if they can claim to be sick or come with children that opens two big loopholes that can be exploited.

Quote "What a load of heartless rubbish and the person who polluted this forum with it should be ashamed."

Gee did you come up with that yourself or did you google for 101 sarcastic remarks?

runner you should be pleased; according to The Leader of the House, Christopher Pyne, he tweeted (but subsequently deleted) that "Labor has chosen to allow terrorists and paedophiles to continue their evil work."
