Dear Nick,

«You are against moving there and nations would do well to move there.
Which is correct?»

Under different circumstances I would recommend the moving of embassies to Western Jerusalem.

However, moving embassies to Jerusalem at this time would not be a good idea, until Israel constructs alternate main roads and a rail-line to Jerusalem that do not pass through the occupied West Bank.

It is impractical to expect diplomats and those who need their consular services to travel to/from Jerusalem by long, slow and winding mountain roads that get blocked when it snows.

Just think
Promise it will not hurt, MOST OF US
If we had no God, if we did not think our God, was the only one, if we did not think we needed to take on the followers of other Gods, in the name of our never existed God
What would we find to hate in any other race
Again, why did our God create all those other Gods
He we KNOW created every thing, even the hate some of us feel for others.
Maybe we can stick to the subject, this thread tells us another country wants to tell us what to do.
Relax, it will never happen America has that job all sewn up

Yuyutsu,
A large part of Israelis chose to join the new state by immigrating, knowing that Muslims wanted control of Jerusalem. Many Jews chose to fight in wars and to occupy east Jerusalem. This majority free choice is "ruling others against their will and is violence, unacceptable" in your words. It's not the UN that is the cause of Arab choice not to be ruled by Israel.

Your improved highway is then riding roughshod over both the citizens of east Jerusalem and your own opinion.

Dear Nick,

«A large part of Israelis chose to join the new state by immigrating, knowing that Muslims wanted control of Jerusalem.»

Yes, but there is no "because" in between, for some it was even "despite".
Many never cared, but were only looking for a new and safe home.

«Many Jews chose to fight in wars and to occupy east Jerusalem.»

Yes, I acknowledge the existence of such fools, but even more were conscripted and forced to fight in wars. Many others could not care less about occupying east Jerusalem and many believed at the time that the government of the day will honour its word and Israel will return Eastern Jerusalem as part of a peace deal.

«It's not the UN that is the cause of Arab choice not to be ruled by Israel.»

You say that the Arabs choose not to be ruled by Israel? I wish they did, but instead it was they who started this stupid 1967 war and subsequently refused each and every deal that would give them back control over their land, this to the dismay of so many reasonable and moderate Israelis who were in the majority at the time (alas, not any more).

The whole purpose of my improved freeway and railway-line is that they will NOT pass through the West Bank or Eastern Jerusalem. The government of Israel has shown ill will by deliberately passing a section of the main freeway, road number 1, one kilometre into the West bank and digging 6 kilometres of rail-tunnels under the West Bank. Having the same within Israel's legitimate borders could lengthen the trip to Jerusalem by no more than 1 minute.

My comment was about Arabs in east Jerusalem . The expelled Arabs don't choose for Israel to rule against those Arabs' will. That rule "AGAINST THEIR WILL is violence, unacceptable". A war 50 years ago does not change this violence by the 2018 law . What do you actually believe?

Dear Nick,

As I wrote earlier, I lament the fact that the Arabs in Eastern Jerusalem are being ruled over against their will. I feel helpless about it.

That said, I lament that anyone is being ruled over against their will, and this includes most of us, but the Chinese, Tibetans and North Koreans in particular.

I can only offer them my prayers.
