Keeping the Sabbath which is a commandment, shows believers deliberately defy Jesus and God..

Jesus says Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.

God says Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.

AND Specifically regarding the Sabbath

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

It's the Jewish Sabbath - The Sabbath runs from sundown on a Friday evening till Sundown on the following Saturday evening. This is set in stone...in the 10 commandments.

Jesus was Jewish! REMEMBER?

Both GOD and Jesus say 'Keep the commandments' and keeping the Jewish Sabbath is what they mean...

THEY DIDN'T say change things as you see fit...

They didn't say play around with the commandments any time you feel like it DID THEY?

Jesus never said my teachings are totally flexible please just alter them where it suits...lmao But that is what believers and the religions have done and still do.

So do you believers "Keep the Sabbath holy?'...If you work on the Saturday then you aren't keeping the Sabbath...You still may worship also on a Sunday but Sunday isn't the Sabbath.

Isn't it amazing how believers keep saying they follow when they defy precise instructions from both GOD and Jesus.

The internet is full of Pharisees justifying the defiance of Jesus' and God's precise teachings on the Sabbath.

And they use all manner of ridiculous argument to justify their anti-Christ behaviours...

So Jesus healed on the Sabbath...and the disciples who were traveling with him picked some corn to eat on the Sabbath...

Jesus even said that you can feed and water your animals on the Sabbath or get them out of harms way on the Sabbath...That is simply common sense!

Would GOD object to you eating or healing someone on the Sabbath? NO!

So what was GOD's precise instruction about the Sabbath besides keep it holy...

Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

AND

Exodus 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to deafor whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

GOD sounds pretty serious to me... How about you?

So the modern believer who doesn't keep the Jewish Sabbath has manipulated GOD's word and Jesus' precise instructions to suit him/herself...It is that simple! It is anti-Christ!

Hang on, the believer attitude defies God and logic...It is only Jesus and GOD speaking, and it is only a commandment, and so what if it contains a death threat?...I'm born again..Nothing GOD or Jesus says really affects me!

As crazy as that sounds...that is what you are saying when you defy the Sabbath.

It must be a great feeling to believe you are above the teachings of GOD and JESUS...

Merry Horusmas!...lmao

Hi Self-Op2,

I wouldn't say I hate Christ or God, just that I don't think they may have ever existed. Not that it matters. The moral foundation that the belief in them ultimately and indirectly provide to us all is what is important. Myths play important roles in keeping us on-track.

Merry Christmas.

Loudy... I never said you hated God...As an atheist you see no evidence of a God so why would I say you hated a no God...That wouldn't make sense.

I decided to do a Lord's Prayer for Is seeing he is so delusional and confused. It covers both the falsehoods of the trinity and the confessional.

Jesus said.... Pray ye therfore like this

Me (Jesus), who is standing right in front of you.
Hallowed be my name.
My Kingdom which is me is standing right in front of you and has come.
My will be done on Earth as it is in heaven
I'll give you this day your daily bread
I'll forgive you your trespasses by getting you to tell a strange sticky-beak man in a funny box and not tell me directly.
As you forgive those who have trespassed against you
I will not lead you into temptation and I'll try to deliver you from evil (But you never listen to me)
For mines is the kingdom. the power and the glory
Forever and ever if you'd only follow me
AMEN

I hope everyone had a Happy Mithramas...lol

And so that everyone can appreciate how Jesus must fell celebrating his birthday on the wrong day in the wrong month and on a day that Pagan's celebrate their false God's birthday, we will celebrate all Christian Birthdays on June 25th 2018 and on that date from then onwards.

No objections from the peanut gallery now...If you won't celebrate Jesus' birthday on the correct date then we will all celebrate yours also on the wrong date.

Happy Birthday for June 25.

Happy Birthday to you
It's the wrong day so boo hoo
We don't give a damn
And we treat Jesus that way too!

Lmao

Op2,

As you point out, as an atheist I can't particularly hate the notion of a god or his prophet if I don't think they exist or existed, so I can't be 'anti-Christ' - how can you be anti- something which you don't think exists ?

December 25th - why, three days after the Winter Solstice ? So that priests could decide that, yes, the sun was 'coming back' and it was a time for celebration. Probably many agricultural societies of thousands of years ago had similar celebrations which promised another year of agricultural production and therefore less chance of starving. All manner of ritual would have been employed to mark that time, usually involving sacrifice of some sort - at first, young men and/or women, then some significant animal, then goats and lambs, and eventually some Christ-figure who was assumed to take on (i.e. as a scape-goat') all the sins of the world and be sacrificed. It all makes sense from a naive and primitive point of view.

Either way, I hope you had a happy Christmas and can look forward to a year in which you can learn more about how and why people believe as they do. I'll certainly try to.

Cheers,

Joe

Op2,

On your last post: I'm puzzled how anyone can believe that their prophet could have two birthdays, one in the northern hemisphere after their Winter Solstice, and one in the southern hemisphere after THEIR Winter Solstice. Are you saying that Jesus could have been born twice ? Perhaps god does indeed move in mysterious ways. Nah, perhaps not.

Yes, Winter Solstices happen every year, but only once each year in each hemisphere. So a birth just after the Winter Solstice in one would correspond to the SUMMER Solstice in the other - and still be a birth on the same day in both, i.e. the one and only birth, on about December 25th. A baby born on that date wouldn't have a second birth on June 25th, no matter how close to god he or she was.

[Sorry, god, but even you can't do that.]. Zzzzap ! Aaaaarrrrrgh !
