//What have we learnt from Self-Opinionated2 so far ?//

Very little. We already knew the bible had some dubious content, so that's hardly a startling revelation. But we have learnt:

* Opiated2 is an idiot.
* He hasn't read 'God is not Great'. I suspect he's not a big reader in general.
* Apparently I come from Looking Glass Land. Which is nice.

Yep, that's about it.

Hi Self-Op2,

Come to think of it, this business of killing someone's first-born: have a look at the Book of Job, (I love the Book of Job) in which God makes a bet with Satan that his loyal servant, Job, can't be made not to love Him. God as narcissist. Check out the end: I think Satan might have won.

But did they, between them, have to kill off Job's kids, servants, slaves, cattle and chooks as well ? AND bring the house down around them ? AND inflict boils etc. on Job ? What the hell did he deserve that for (as he complains incessantly to his mates) ?

So God has to crack a fruity and try to brow-beat Job ("Can you make the tempest ? Whales ? Nah ! You're nothing."), and eventually suck up to him, to give him back his farm, kids, etc. For which Job says more or less nothing one way or the other. Well, would you chip the Mafia boss ? What ?! God as a Mafioso ?!

Aaaaaaaaargh !

The story of Pharoah and in particular the hardening of the heart stuff...shows...Pharoah had no say in it...because...GOD commenced and continued hardening his heart.

Exodus 4:21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I WILL HARDEN HIS HEART, that he shall not let the people go.

If GOD is all powerful, what could Pharoah do? You believers are saying GOD is a manipulative, mass murderer...Top effort!..lmao

BUT wait in this same Chapter GOD was too slow to kill MOSES!...His wife intervened.

Exodus 4:24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.

GOD failed but stopped for a drink!...lmao

How anyone can call themselves spiritual and celebrate the Passover defies logic. You celebrate the mass murder of innocent babies, children and babes still in the womb and you blame God for doing it...Mentally ill much?...lmao

Will God ask people...come judgement day...How did you believe all this rubbish against me?

How could you believe that I would condone and/or commit Infanticide, rape, murder, animal and human sacrifice, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, torture, stoning, slavery , oppression of women and other atrocities?

Why do believers hold GOD in such low regard?

But back to the Passover..

Perhaps God has hardened your hearts into believing horrid lies against God...lmao

WHY DO PEOPLE BELIEVE THIS RUBBISH AGAINST GOD?

The Bible alleges GOD stated words to the effect that he would harden Pharoah's heart 16 times in Exodus...4:21...14.4...9:12...10:1...10:20...10:27...11:10...14:8...7:13...7:14...7:22...8:19... 9:7...9:35...14:5

The story is a fiction.

As the Passover never happened...Believers are accusing GOD of an horrendous crime against humanity based on lies.

No wonder Jesus said

Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

WHY DO PEOPLE BELIEVE THESE HORRID THINGS AGAINST GOD?

OP2 the best way of describing religion is by taking the bible, any one of the many versions, or the Koran etc. and basically calling them all 'best sellers'. They are all written by people and are definitely not 'the word of God'! The Koran might be have been dictated by Mohamed, but who is still alive today that was there to witness these moments.

Op2,
We have heard enough of your unintelligent misrepresentations. The ancients interpreted all historical events as authorised by God or gods. You ignore the fact natural catastrophic events do happen including wars that kill millions including innocent children. The ancients wrote His Story as enacted by God / Allah or gods.

To ALTRAV.

Sorry if I latched onto the wrong point. But it is a point I hear often enough. Said in one form or another, sometimes more politely sometimes with the intent to be offensive. The point: that Christians are buffoons, simpletons, gullible, .... Well you get the idea. In my opinion this view is garnished by what it offers those saying it. It's not a view. I see only used against Christians, but is a general argument that can grow in a culture of simular minded people, against people they disagree with or dislike. This view and point as a whole I disagree with because so far I haven't seen any reliable evidance or examples that show one group of people actually being smarter as a whole then another group..

As to your point. That God doesn't exist. No suprise I disagree. I am sad that it is not obvious that He does exist. Not because of belief and only belief, but because of observations within each of our lives. Perhaps there is something to be thankful for. The moments of weakness that I've had where God made it known He's there and that He loves, a great amount of love. Your view that there is no one but ourselves is an inspiring and uplifting way of putting it, but it is really only strong and inspiring when we are also strong. It is only freeing when we feel like we can be more then we are right now. If you ever feel the need for help, because of your weaknesses, your failures, or your mistakes; then the kindness and help of others is the real strength you find. That you are not alone. Among other situtions this kind of one is where God comforted me, and made known that He is there. Who knows, perhaps I wouldn't have looked for God as much unless I was fortunate at one time to be weak and be willing to call for God.
