//What we need is evidence based laws//

Yeah, and a cure for cancer, world peace, cold fusion and a reboot of Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' series. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

//perhaps Sandalplank will find some in his wanderings.//

If the Righteous St. David Coral-Friend of Airbus, Guardian of the Low Isles, He That Treads Lightly Upon the Earth, actually intends to walk all the way to the U.S., then I can't really whinge too much. But I reckon he probably can't walk on water as well as Paul would have us believe - men named Paul are generally not to be trusted when reporting on supposed Messiahs - and that he be'll hopping on a plane instead.

The neo-Nazi's and white supremacists have joined forces with the gun lobby, not that we can tell who's who among these far right extremest groups, to deliver an unprecedented amount of 'hate mail' towards David Shoebridge since he announced he would be undertaking a trip to Trump’s America to discuss gun control policies, compare the two countries’ gun lobbies and what it might all mean under a Trump Administration (see David's media release 28th November 2016). Is Mise your opening post contains cut and paste material from that media release, are you a regular reader, or just one of the gun lobbies watch dogs?
Many of these extremists are taking to social media to ridicule David for undertaking this trips, resorting to name calling, innuendo of a sexual nature, and threats. These same people make no mention of the recent US expeditions at taxpayers expense by Shooters and Fishers Party Victorian MP's Daniel Young and Jeff Bourman to garner the latest hate thinking from their financial backers among the powerful US gun lobby.

Got it all back to front as usual Paul.

It's you & the likes of Shoebridge who are the extremists.

Us normal folk simply want the means of catching dinner occasionally & defending our country & people when necessary.

If the average Australian young country kid had not been able to handle a gun, Kokoda would have been a rout, & Australia would have fallen.

"us normal folk", Hassy you are living in a fantasy world thinking the average Australian just wants to act like Daniel Boone and is wanting to be "catching dinner occasionally & defending our country & people when necessary." You are living in the past, Kokoda was 70 years ago, and the merits of your claim would be highly debatable anyway. Your view of the past through rose coloured glasses is understandable, as it is not uncommon for older folk to gain comfort in life by looking backwards towards a very much distorted past, always hankering for those imaginary good old days to return.

The extremism I speak of is there, it is real, and it is today, and not buried in some mythical stylized past. That is what we should be concerned with, and not your fantasy!

So which am I, Paul? A neo-Nazi, a white supremacist or a gun nut?

//These same people make no mention of the recent US expeditions at taxpayers expense by Shooters and Fishers Party Victorian MP's Daniel Young and Jeff Bourman//

Do Dan & Jeff belong to a party which includes action on climate change as one of it's main platforms? Nah, didn't think so. They probably don't even believe in climate change, so them hopping on a plane for no good reason is a not a massive act of hypocrisy like it is for a Greens MP.

As I said before, my objection is not to St. Dave of Airbus discussing gun control policies and comparing the two countries' gun lobbies with his American counterparts. I just want to know why he can't do it over the internet. It is the 21st century, Paul. It's been some time since it has been necessary to go to America just to speak to Americans. Everyone I know can communicate across vast distances - even continents - in essentially real-time. Why can't St. Dave?

Now let me use my awesome psychic powers to predict Paul's answer: 'Guns is dangerous! People what like guns sucks.'

Thanks, Paul. Another fine non-sequitur to add to my collection.

Paul,

How perceptive you are,
" Is Mise your opening post contains cut and paste material from that media release, are you a regular reader, or just one of the gun lobbies watch dogs?"

Are you amazed that my opening post contained material from Sandalplank's page?

Didn't the quotation marks and and the reference tell you something?

I'm a regular reader of his page, he's funnier than you are.
Being a one time active supporter of the Greens in NSW I like to keep up to date on the progress of the Party, mainly to see just how far it will deviate from the founding principles.
