The Jews did not have the option of becoming Christians. Those who had become Christians were slaughtered by the Nazis anyway because of their ancestry.

The thread has moved on and I do not want to divert it from its course, however you are right about the number of temporary visas for Muslim nurses and likely the number obtaining citizenship thereafter.

Foxy's remarks are still wrong and offensive on two counts.

First, Foxy was obviously partisan and wrong to claim, "The current health care agencies due to Mr Abbott's axe cuts probably could not afford to hire the "white" staff you speak of", when it occurred under Labor's watch, PM Julia Watshername and her Greens sidekicks, and under Kevin Rudd.

Secondly, Foxy was condescending and wrong (her cultural cringe again) to accept and repeat that the Muslim nurses are somehow better and accept lower pay than her disliked 'whites', who apparently are not as good according to Foxy's preferred anecdotal source and expect Award conditions (shock, horror!).

Just adding to the last, Foxy might welcome the lower nursing pay and conditions through immigration of Asian nurses, saying,

"We need to be grateful that we have caring people who are able to work for lower wages.."

and the previous Labor government strongly facilitated the policy.

It does not reflect too kindly on Julia Wahtshername though, who Foxy puts on a pedestal. More of Julia's lies: in fact it now appears that she was active in undermining the employment rights, conditions and pay in an industry that is almost completely female. The education and training policies of the previous Labor governments must have been abject failures if our own nursing graduates cannot find work, requiring hundreds of Muslim nurses to be imported instead.

As with any government policy I don't especially care what it is or what money is spent, as long as the electorate and those most affected are properly consulted, ie., directly consulted, not decisions taken behind closed doors. I am not aware of Kevin Rudd or Julia Wahtshername ever mentioning to the electorate or being up-front with nurses that they intended to warp their employment conditions (as Foxy has applauded!).

Labor and their Greens sidekicks pose as the protectors of workers. Yeah, right!(sic)

I need to correct the poster known as "on the beach"
he's once again attributing things to me
that I neither said nor think. And, as I stated in my
earlier post the information that I gave earlier was from
the Blue-Cross Organisation (one of the largest in Victoria)
and their policies in the hiring of their staff. The
Director was being very frank and open. I am not against
any "white" staff, nor do I place any politician on a

You are correct about the genocide of Hindus which was over a considerable period, thirteen centuries.

There is one great difference though. The Nazi pogrom against Jews was not a war, where Jews could even defend themselves ... and very rarely escape. The numbers killed were over a relatively short period.

Before WWII Germany was considered the most cultured and civilised country in Europe ... . and we are only looking at 70 years ago.

The nazis employed a very efficient bureaucratic machine to identify Jews. They even knew the number of Jews in Albania.

Many people were arrested and taken to the gas chambers unaware that they had a Jewish grandparent.

I do not know the numbers of Jews killed over the centuries of Christian rule. But pogroms were frequent and bloody, add to this the regular propaganda, such as Jews were responsible for the plague - and the effect of this upon communities. Then there was the very restrictive lives imposed upon Jews, who were considered pariahs of society.

I personally knew a Pole, who admitted that he and his friends would regularly enter Jewish communities to attack them; any death was of no consequence. Certainly the law had no concerns. This was only pre-war. Undoubtedly, this occurred in many areas outside of Poland.
