Might be my biases showing but it seems to me the left is very fond of throwing some very dirty mud around but gets ever so indignant when any comes in their direction. I recall plenty of jokes about John Howards likely lack of prowess as a lover, plenty of jokes about Amanda Vanstones appearance sometimes quite clever, other times just to keep their political enemies giggling.

Neither side is innocent but to make the kind of comments you made in that deleted comment and then carry on about name calling takes a special kind of lack of awareness of your own biases.
