It was a very nasty comment and our country could do far better without the level of nastyness and the willingness to do harm that some want to bring to "political" debate.

The comments by Jones though are not some kind of island, isolated from the level of what a lot treat as the way to do things. More direct than many use but in the end they have no real power of Gillard, theybare unlikely to sway votes (except possibly incrasing sympathy for her).

The Gillard government brought in changes to family law that will be doing far greater harm to some fathers with unproven accusations by people who stand to gain financially and sometimes personally from the outcome being used as a basis for "protecting" children. They and the Libs oversee a so called child support system that is brutal in its extremes and lack of fairness against responsible parents. A system that provides financial rewards for those who isolate the other parent from their children and does not care how thats achieved.

Jones is part of the cancer but less brutal than many of those who seek and cling to power.

I think you are right Robert.This nastiness is pervading our whole society.When I saw the bite on Billy Slater's ear by a Bull Dog's player yesterday,they lost any support I felt for them.

Both the major parties have a win at any cost mentality and the welfare of this country and it's people rate at a very poor 3rd or 4th concern.

His hatred of women must run in the party. The comments of Jones is beyond that of free speech. This man deserves to be dismissed as a commentator, a stripped of any social standing what so ever.

Jones was at a Liberal Party function when he made these disgusting comments. Abbott's response of "comments are out of order" this type of 'soft' response by Abbott gives them tacit approval.
