I have a small selection of shares and Super which makes me part owner of various companies incl BHP, Rio etc. Are these companies beholden to me? Don't be stupid. The comment that Jones made was to a private function not on air, which would make it very difficult to fire him, yet not only do the activists want to attack Jones, his employer, but also all the sponsors to his employer.
The problem with this is that Jones' ratings appear not to have been dented and still commands a large audience of relatively wealthy listeners. People wanting to sell to this audience will eventually come back or give up sales to their competitors.
When this blows over, I can't see Jones blunting his attacks on Juliar and labor.
