Surely it's not a matter of "impressing", but merely emulating.

How does one tolerate the intolerant
in our society?

One simply takes no notice of them.
They usually don't represent the mainstream.
Unless they break the law of course.
Then they're tried according to the law.

Or, if they happen to be
wanting the top job in politics - then one
simply doesn't vote for them.

It's perfectly reasonable to suggest that Australian born Muslims who want to practice their religion in an assertive and aggressive way should go to live overseas and do so, going back to the "mother country' or to one which meets your personal tastes and standards is an Australian tradition. If it's viewed as healthy for white Australians to go abroad to "find themselves" and broaden their minds then it's going to do those guys with the Beards and robes and Aussie accents no end of good, right?.

Runner you give evidence that it is not only SOME Muslims who are to be watched.
You in no way, remind me of the loving Christ I once followed.
You however fit well with those who forced me to rethink my belief.

So the question must be asked, why?

Why on earth did our past leaders allow these radical groups in?

For me, it just adds fuel to the suggestion that our strings are being pulled from somewhere other than our own leaders.

We must stand up for the sake of our children, their children and thier children's children.

Enough is enough. I suggest two options.

1. Ban Islamic worship in Australia, total!
2. If anyone wants to follow this religion, find somewhere else to do it.

We must claim Australia back before there's nothing worthwhile saving, otherwise it may well be us on that leaky boat, and good luck finding somewhere with the soft, compassionate approach that we have, not to mention the perks.
