Well has been, it sure sounds like a nice little pocket, as a land lover myself, can appreciate your passion as I have 1600 odd ac out bush and just love getting there, mainly to cut timber.

I have foxtel back home which I just love, gets all channels including SBS and the ABC and most days is great.

We do loose signal when there is the slightest hin of a storm though which is quite frustrating.

Now I have AUSTAR out bush and it's just not a patch on fox.

So perhaps you could try foxtel as an option, or, find someone the with it first, so you can check it out.

BTW, given that 20ac is small, have you considered lucine as a crop. Big money these days, $20+ but you need plenty of water.

It funny how thing happen, as although some of your nieghboures are frustrated with not being able to subdivide, it wil pay off in the long run, as ac that close to everything will be gold in future years.

My block could not be cleared, which was a bumer a few years back, but now the timber, being hard wood is worth a fortune.

I could make a comfortable living in just one day per week if I choose and, being a mining own, I,m now just 10 min from what will be a major town.

Never expected that when I bought.

My reception usually ok, however had a great deal of interference effecting programs self likes to see from others here.

RESOLVED: watch most on my computer, with fine ADSL2 broadband signals.

Admit changed my plan so higher speed as soon as my teens discovered online videos.

Broadband allows most to watch own programs, listen to most audio (formerly radio) online :-)

Some audio's possible on dial up.

ABC: http://www.abc.net.au/radio/listenlive.htm#direct_links

Most TV and Audio networks provide similar.

Broadband truly liberates rural communitie

Failed to mention one near neighbour who resolved his reception problem by installing a big (2m?) dish, so receives signals/programs he wants from satellites.

Access to commercial sattelite TV services was restricted, subject to an eligibility test, IMHO government should dump this ASAP.

Hi hasbeen:

...Wow, how lucky are ya! Just to update you, Virginia Trioli is expecting a baby, (not on TV I hope)! And I have written in to “News 24” requesting a change to title more reflecting of content, “Same News 24”: The “mute” button on my remote has permanently seized “on”; in fact I have considered writing to “Sanyo” suggesting they produce a TV receiver with no sound system at all, as a contribution to arthritis sufferers.

...I think the obsession now-days, reducing electronic components to “micro-digital” has the effect of reducing reliability. My boat radio suffers from the same symptoms as does your TV. The only place it stubbornly refuses to work is where it is most relied upon, travelling over the bar! There is nothing wrong with it either, having spent the best part of its life back in the factory for confirmation

Individual:

...And a big “thanking you” for another of your inimitable quotes!

# They prey on the intelligent who have been made stupid in our Unis.#

...I’ll see what I can “hatch” from this one!

Cheers;

Dan the man!

Thanks for that Dan. Sorry to appear a bit out of it, but, who is Virginia Trioli.

I am continually amazed at the number of celebrities I have never heard of.

Rehctub interesting with your storm thing.
I have an L shaped, quite large tree windbreak on the western & southern sides of the house paddock. about 50 & 100 meters long respectively.

In the analog days we used to get SBS better on wet. but not too windy mights. I always thought the signal we were getting must have been a reflection off those wet trees. At those times one of the commercials would become very ghosty, probably 2 signals.
