Science gives us objective criteria to assess the viability of truth-claims. Creationism/Intelligent Design does not have this.

Science has a process of testing claims against real-world observations.

Creationism, or re-labelled as intelligent design are just leaps to a conclusion, and should not be in our schools and definitely not taught as science, as is being done.
