Dear Houellebecq,

Your last post to me examplifies
a case of bad timing.

I know that you're probably not aware
that this past week has been a very
difficult one for me and my family.
My step-father is on his death-bed in
a nursing home - he's got a death-wish,
refusing all medication and food. We've
been told to respect his wishes and wait
for the inevitable.

It's been a dreadful week, and still continues...

I've been drifting in and out of OLO - simply
to take my mind off things.

At any other time I would have enjoyed your
go at me - but this time, I found it
upsetting to say the least.

Anyway, I hope you got a good laugh out of it.
