OUG as usual you make sense in a completely nonsensical way.

I thought I would have more to rant about, I am a natural “ranter” but really there was many little whinges more than anything rantworthy.

Today a child left, this left another child broken in many ways. Raging and ranting for me right now is very much a journey of futility however much the distraction momentarily blocks some reality for me.

I am sad when I want to be enraged. One act of human kindness and I may shatter.

Did you name your fish? Call one Love.[smile]

call one love ...ok thats easy enough...there must be a level of grief in loving children..then like as not never seeing them again...

are you permitted to keep in contact with the former members of your huge family...or do you keep a memory board of special drawings...or left behind treasures...

are there certain items of special memory..or special scatch marks or dents..left behind..once the child moves onwards..with their lifes journey...i would cast their feet in concrete..to symbolise your huge family..in the one place...at last

anyhow i been overfeeding..love..lately...and the glass is getting too much..algea growth on it..so might need to be looking for a new love..in the new batch..algae eaters this time...once i found love ..my underwater family shall be complete...

i just know..that love..is heading your way as well..he..she..might look as fishy as heck...but will be love personified...just as you...enjoy being the mummy...mothers rule

Piper's right - OUG's post on love
was just the right medicine at the
right time.

Support systems mean just that: that members of
the system support one another. Of course we
value independence, and friendship is not meant
to undermine that value in ourselves or others.
But still, in the strongest of personalities,
in the most blessed of lives, there are times
when a person emotionally falls down. Where are
they then, if not for their friends. Who else can
any of us depend on, to lend the resources of kindness
and strength to help us back up ...

I don't take the friendships I've made on OLO
lightly - and I'm grateful to you all. To
Fractelle, Dave, Piper,Belly, CJ, Bronwyn,
Robert,( and many others) ...

Piper, I really admire the work you do. It must be
very hard having to cope with such difficult
situations that you're constantly having to deal
with. I know I couldn't do it.

I will count again soon, I am at 110 children or maybe 112. To sit down and count means to think of each one.

The only one I have ever seen again came from NZ, his Aunty bought him to visit me. I thought she was coming to stay alone and when she arrived all the other kids in my house were milling around and I hugged her and chatted to her and this one little child kept trying to talk to me and I had my hand on his head trying to keep him still while I talked to the grown up. I looked down and under my hand was a little foster kid I had with me for over two years in NZ.

I fell apart with the surprise, cried and laughed all over the poor five year old. He stayed for two weeks. When he left I waved goodbye and was told later by my daughter that when he got in the car he said quietly "goodbye mum". My daughter and his Aunty asked him what he said and he repeated it and they said "but Julie isn’t your mum" and he replied "but she should have been".

OUG, call one fish Loss and another Joy.

I keep some things, photos, some paintings, and little moments in memory I usually don’t visit.

Thank you Foxy. A lot can’t do what I do… I think to really do it for the children that need effective Sort Term Care you have to be able to detach when it is needed or breakdown. It’s more akin to a disorder I suspect. The trick is letting them go and this same trick stops me having friends who comprehend. Even friends have fallen in love with the children in my care and when I don’t keep them they can’t comprehend. From little my own children have been so hurt when a child leaves. Hell of a sacrifice for a mother to choose for her own but I did choose it for them.

Anger has deserted me tonight, just when I need it.[smile]
