MAryE “I wonder if? No, surely not.”

Maybe you are just one of the “slower posters”

Q&A I am pleased you find humour in your parody of me,(lets face it, there is nothing in your existence worth parodying).

The interesting point is, from the words of your own post, you obviously see me with someone gifted with "special powers”.

Whereas, I see myself as ordinarily human, of above average intelligence perhaps (if my IQ score and range of vocabulary are guides) but with the belief that we are all entitled to aspire to the limits of our own potential.

Conversely, you, sadly, appear as someone who merely aspires to make parody of others.

And by the way.. from the depths of your “lower plane”.. .don’t come up too fast or you might suffer a case of the bends..

and your persona would suggest you have a proclivity for the “bent”.

Ah I see too CJ Moron is quick to join in on a group attack … as usual slinking around the outer edges of the fray, too timid to lead the “pack”... I suggest you scurry back to your dog box CJ.

Thanks david f - I really value your contributions and your even-tempered and well thought out responses. The letter i LOL - I love your sense of humour.

No more pieces of 2x4 at your house Fractelle. We value your contributions too much. I know we don't agree on everything but sometimes I swear your posts reflect exactly what was going on in my head. Bronwyn does it too - where is Bronwyn we haven't seen her for a while?

There are many wonderful posters on OLO who write with a great passion and empathy for others.

Good topic Belly.

Now Col, don't be ungrateful.

Not only have you found something to do while at work, but you've received the attention you so obviously crave.

You've told us about your amazingly high IQ, and we've been treated yet again to the stupendous breadth of your vocabulary - but we haven't yet heard about your sex life on this thread.

Go on Col, you know you want to regale us with your latest amorous achievements.

I am disturbed by the mass attack on Col Rouge. I disagree with him philosophically and politically, but that is nothing against him. Olo is a place for people who disagree to express their disagreements.

In the case of Col he seems like an intelligent and cultured person with a point of view that most people on this list don't share. I see no reason to attack him as a person. I see no evidence that he is better or worse in character than most people on the list. I think he is more intelligent than most posters.

I think the virtue of this list is that people of different opinions collide. However, to get the most enjoyment the collisions should be limited to ideas and not to persons.

He doesn't need my support as he is quite capable of taking care of himself. However, I don't like the way he has been attacked and ridiculed.

I tried to resist, fought against it, but I'm just not strong enough.

I came here for a look. One of my barbeque mates, the professer suggested should.

He told me I would find more watermelons, long haired radical ratbags, bleeding hearts, & just plain dills, per column inch, than anywhere else on the net.

Smart bloke that prof.

Of course, you are quite right, david f - let's get serious.

I (for one) have in the past tried to have meaningful dialogue with Col but have always found he 'knows' better on subjects he quite clearly doesn't have expertise in, and dismisses contrary but qualified views out of hand.

I am more than happy to engage with and learn from Col, on a diverse range of topics - he is after-all a person of high IQ and vocabulary - but I get tired of his unwillingness to admit he might be wrong on some issues that he is not expert in. I suspect his book "Col's Guide to the Universe" will be a best seller :)

He can dish it, but beware those that dish it back - that's Col's hallmark.

Everyone has a right to an opinion. However, it's disconcerting when unqualified opinion wants to intimidate, bully or silence qualified opinion.
