I don’t think we love to hate, it’s just that we are terrific at rationalising our position on anything. Whatever the conviction may be it was developed over time; perhaps it began as a prejudice, or in response to some stimulation. Over time, especially in our media saturated world, a great deal of bolstering material is selectively accumulated that validates the bias. It most likely validates nothing of course; it probably doesn’t even stack up against the contrary view, but that doesn’t matter because people are capable of incredible feats of rationalisation. As we’ve seen repeatedly in different threads, people rarely change tack; they will cling to their beliefs without a shred of evidence and in the face of the most compelling arguments. Sadly, usually these ironclad views are self-seeking, self-aggrandising and utterly intolerant. And this is where the hate comes in; people are so convinced of the rightness of their position. Ultimately it gets blown up into a sanctimonious matter of good against evil. I can’t stand patriots. Johnson said patriotism was the last refuge of a scoundrel, but I agree with Gore Vidal, who said it was the first! It irks me therefore that a clown in my area has a dirty great flag pole and the Aussie flag atop. I’d like to fly the Aboriginal flag just to get up his nose! Can you imagine the hate that would be unleashed then?
We hate each other from prejudice; from an unflinching conviction of the rightness of our own position; and from intolerance of anyone else’s.
Sadam Hussein went to his grave, I'm sure, without the slightest notion that he'd ever done wrong.

there is much more to the story of course..but we must be carefull not to simply hate..because the media gives us the info to hate...no babies got chucked out of no incubators either...but we need to do our own researches...not just blindly hate..when the media says hate
