StevenlMeyer started a thread, "Cuckoo men," which gave me the idea for this thread.

So I googled, "Older women - younger men," and came across this website:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/05/earlyshow/main2651142.shtml

It tells us,"Since the beginning of time women have been basically valued for their youth, their beauty, and men have been valued for their ability to provide for a family. But now so many women have great, thriving careers they just really don't need men the way they used to."

Examples are given, 44 year old Demi Moore - married to 29 year old Ashton Kutcher. 40 year old Halli Berry and 31 year old Gabriel Aubry.
There is a 17 year gap between actress Susan Sarandon and actor Tim Robbins, and the list goes on.

"When it becomes celebrity driven, it becomes acceptable to everybody."

And...

"It just means these women are taking what they want...it's about time. Men have done it forever..."

Any thoughts?

Yep..I have a thought, I'd like to think it's nothing to do with 'women taking what they want' and everything to do with "people falling in love and not worrying about the age difference".

Marriage shouldn't be based on either men or women 'taking what they want' because if it is, I don't feel it will last.

blessings:)

>"and everything to do with people falling in love."

Ironic BOAZ, considering your views on gay marriage.

Fully agree with you, Boaz David, well said.
Age is not important in the face of love.

Steel is right though- why wouldn't the same go for homosexual couples?

Lighten up people - this is meant to be taken with a bit of 'tongue-in-cheek.' ('What good for the gander ...')

Go into the website that I've listed in my first post - and read some of the comments ...

As one lady said, "...While I'm not ready for and do not relish 20 somethings or even most 30 somethings - I can see why some women go that route - just like women, men need to realize they are as old as they feel and act and reflect. With many men acting like aging babies or petulant kids and with a libido that may need drugs to be effective, look for man more 'cougars' to go after 'cubs.'"
