"you even claimed "Palestinian babies were terrorists and deserve to die"

Well even though you put it in "quotes" I never said anything of the sort. Not even close. Which tells us more about your projection than you concern for the truth.

As with most things Paul writes about, if the facts aren't what you want them to be, just make up new 'facts'.

There are lots of ways to piss off the Trump Derangement Syndrome crowd. This is one of the best....

Recent Nobel prize winner, Venezuela's true leader Maria Corina Machado, dedicated the prize to the "suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump".

The Nobel Peace prize winner is an admirer of Donald Trump, and more or less hinted that should have got the prize.

Troll 1405 is still talking like a 12 year old, now having to dig up something from 6 years ago. The tripe could even be something he has cut and wasted from his drivel at that time: Cory Bernardi; a single donation I made (unlike his ongoing dues to the Green Communists); crying in beer that I don't drink, as teetotaller.

And, I wasn't aware that I had “suffered at the hands of the Australian Conservative Party”, which has never existed. I had to look it up. The one-man ‘party’ was called ‘Australian Conservatives’. And I don't recall suffering from that, either.

As for wanting a “repeat”, I don't know if Bernardi still exists. He had a couple of goes on SkyNews, then disappeared. He is as relevant to politics as Troll 1405 is to sensible thinking. As for the ‘old fools’ Troll is always talking about, he has to be well into his 70's himself, and his wild, repetitive posts suggest senile dementia.

Trumpster,

Anyone who can bring a genuine peace to the world is welcomed by me, even your man Trump. Another of your folk heroes Benito Mussolini, claimed at one time he was trying to broker a peace deal between the Allies and Hitler, another one of your folk heroes. So there is hope for The Donald after all. MAN UP and withdraw your lie about me.

ttbn,

"Crying in your beer" is an idiom that means to feel sorry for yourself or to wallow in self-pity, especially after something bad has happened, like a breakup or a setback. It describes someone dwelling on their sorrows, often alone, and can also imply complaining in a maudlin or self-pitying way." That is YOU to a tee.

Old Fart, not necessary in age, some one with an archaic view of the world, totally regressive, negative, slow minded. dimwitted, belligerent, out of touch. Do I need to go on, that's YOU to a tee

Machado’s praise was strategic, not spiritual - before we all get too excited.

Her movement survives on US leverage against Maduro, and Trump’s administration was the one that provided it. Aligning herself with him costs nothing inside Venezuela but buys her credibility with Washington and with the global populist-right network that includes Milei, Bolsonaro and Bukele. By flattering Trump, she secures oxygen, donors and headlines. It’s smart politics, but it’s hardly proof of moral kinship.

Praising the man with the power to keep your cause alive is self-preservation, not worship.

You can’t:

- refuse to govern for half the country,
- declare half the country to be an "enemy within,"
- terrorise your own citizens with a masked modern-day Gestapo,
- and plan to filter social media, selfies and SMS messages for people expressing negative sentiment towards ICE,

then expect to win a Nobel Prize. Trump should be happy that even got a strategic mention.

Meanwhile, mhaze and ttbn, who shriek about Labor's alleged attempts at censorship, remain silent while Trump hands literal surveillance powers to a militarised agency with a daily arrest quota and a licence for warrantless search. If censorship is tyranny when Labor drafts a bill, what do we call a government that builds an AI to monitor "negative sentiment" about itself?

At some point the double standard stops being political and starts being moral.

If you can shrug off that level of repression while crowing about a Nobel shout-out, then your principles aren’t about free speech at all. They’re about tribal loyalty.

Paul,

Yes. You keep saying that.

Seriously. Have you had GPCOG with your doctor recently, or at all?

Nothing to be ashamed of. Any loss of cognitive ability, if caught early enough, can be dealt with. The mind wears out like other parts of you as you age; particularly if you drink alcohol.
