It's not for you or Israel to decide.
You have your own dog in the fight with your family. Your part is to worry about them, and what the government and the settlers do, to increase the conflict. My position here is similar to the situation in Ukraine. The Ukrainians bombed the crap out of civilians in the Donbass for years, they lost the right to rule over them, ever. They should of stuck to the Minsk agreements. Likewise no Israeli that failed to stand against the slaughter of innocent women and kids gets to say 'they care'. And lets be honest, sending weapons into Gaza isn't about caring for the Palestinians. Israel has never acted in the Palestinians interest, they are merely trying to shape the battlefield for whatever they have in store tomorrow. As for the social media that you did not wish to see, I thik one of them was Smotrich grandstanding about settlements in Gaza, just like the E1 settlement in West Bank, the aim is to destroy any chance of any kind of Palestinian state. Maybe another was Ben G'vir bragging about psychological abuse of detainees. The Palestinians future is for the Palestinians to decide. Not you, not me, and better they're ruled over by Palestinian oppressors that Israeli or US ones. That's at least one step in the right direction. Israel should worry about and deal with it's own lunatic settler problem. Israel should get its own house in order and stop worrying about what the neighbours are doing. Israel should officially state its own borders. TODAY NOT YESTERDAY Posted by Armchair Critic, Monday, 20 October 2025 7:49:58 AM

Dear Critic,
Are you saying that one should not care about others beyond their own family? And even if one is too afraid, tired or overwhelmed to care about X, does it preclude them from caring about Y? Suppose you fail to care about domestic cruelty towards dogs and cats, does that make you ineligible to care about the culling of elephants in Africa? Sure, ideally one ought to care for all the fallen and downtrodden in the universe, but is being human unforgivable? I don't want anyone, anywhere, to be oppressed or ruled against their will by others they don't like. This includes Israel, the West-Bank and Gaza. It also includes Australia. And well yes, it also includes Donbass. Only the locals should be able to choose who, if any, is to rule over them. «And lets be honest, sending weapons into Gaza isn't about caring for the Palestinians.» You may be right - so what? The families in question are still thankful. «Israel has never acted in the Palestinians interest,» "Never" is a very long time. Netanyahu and his Nazi companions weren't always there. Life isn't a zero-sum game and it often occurs that one, while caring for their own interests also unintentionally acts in others' interests. «I thik one of them was Smotrich grandstanding about settlements in Gaza...» May God smite and erase their name from the face of the earth. «The Palestinians future is for the Palestinians to decide. Not you, not me, and better they're ruled over by Palestinian oppressors that Israeli or US ones.» I personally prefer any non-oppressor over oppressors and take it a step further: it is for each "Palestinian" person or family to decide. Fact is, the vast majority of Arab/"Palestinian" Israelis like to remain Israelis forever and would extremely dread living under any "Palestinian" rule. «Israel should worry about and deal with it's own lunatic settler problem. Israel should get its own house in order» Yes, so far so good. «and stop worrying about what the neighbours are doing.» Worry not for those doing, but for those being undone. Trump urged Zelensky to accept Putin’s terms or be ‘destroyed’
http://www.afr.com/world/europe/trump-urged-zelensky-to-accept-putin-s-terms-or-be-destroyed-20251020-p5n3w3 >>Donald Trump urged Volodymyr Zelensky to accept Russia’s terms for ending the war in a volatile White House meeting on Friday (Saturday AEDT), warning that Vladimir Putin said he would “destroy” Ukraine if it did not agree. The meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents descended many times into a “shouting match”, with Trump “cursing all the time”, people familiar with the matter said.<< So what has been achieved here? Onto Gaza. There's no way a ceasefire will hold in Gaza, because Israel is still in religious extermination mode. These Israelis are lunatics, you'd think they'd be glad they got their hostages back, they must've already killed about 80 Palestinians including more women and kids since then. http://www.timesofisrael.com/ben-gvir-threatens-to-stop-voting-with-coalition-unless-death-penalty-bill-advances/ http://www.timesofisrael.com/ben-gvir-says-he-gave-pm-deadline-to-dismantle-hamas-enact-death-penalty-for-terrorists/ http://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/ben-gvir-demands-return-to-full-scale-fighting-after-terror-operatives-attack-idf-troops-in-gaza/ Religious death cult. If Netanyahu doesn't do as he's told by these people he wont have a government and he'll be off to jail. Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 21 October 2025 8:21:57 AM

Dear Critic,
«religious extermination mode.» «Religious death cult.» They are just Nazis with no religion whatsoever. All about sick nationalism and absolutely nothing to do with God. Sheer evil. They make me want to vomit too. So please do not compliment them - religion is the most wonderful thing, provided of course that it is religion indeed. From what I have been reading I think Trump's peace has no chance at all !
They all seem to be maneuvering to get into the best position to start it all again. Even QATAR is still in the act. Why do we allow their airline into Australia ? What could go wrong ? HAMAS has made it clear they are going nowhere and are keeping their weapons. Posted by Bezza, Friday, 24 October 2025 10:05:47 PM

«And don't forget the leadership problem.
And the whole nations attitude problem.»
Sorry I lost you here. I have no clue what you are talking about, thus I've got nothing to forget.
Obviously also, I would not come near these filthy social-media sites which you try to lure me into. My web-browser would block them anyway.
«Israel said Hamas was looting aid — then it armed the gangs who were actually stealing it»
I already agreed that Israel under Netanyahu did awful things.
That does not imply that Israel cannot also do something good from time to time.
BTW, now that the war is presumably over, Israelis are demanding to establish [the equivalent of] a royal commission regarding the 7th of October and the ensuing war. Netanyahu reluctantly sort-of agrees "on condition that the committee also investigate the protesters against his government, the high court and the previous government".
Thus Israelis are discussing how far into the past should the investigation go, so here is the best comment I saw on Israeli media:
"The commission should go back in time to investigate Netanyahu's father and why he failed to use a condom"!
