You live in a peaceful country, tucked away safely from Islamic tyranny, nobody tells you what to wear or think or whether and how to pray, and you also seem keen not to allow Islamic oppressors into this country.

Yet when it comes to people elsewhere, Gazans that is, you don't care one iota for them and are happy for them to be ruled by the Hamas terrorist gang forever.

After 2 years of Hamas weakening, some of the Gazan population finally see a ray of hope. Previously if they were suspected of saying anything bad about Hamas, they were shot in the knees and if these suspicions were confirmed they were thrown off the roofs of tall buildings. Finally they see some hope, of living a normal life, like yourself in Australia.

So what if Israel happens to help them with arms - I too would do the same if I could, most decent people would. Israel could never help the Gazan people to uprise against their oppressors if they didn't want to themselves. Israel may be in the wrong on many other counts, but not on this one.

You were complaining about Israel shooting innocent Gazans - well let me tell you, had I been as gravely unfortunate to be born in Gaza, then I would be more than glad to be shot dead by an Israeli bullet than to live under Hamas tyranny. I would have dropped flowers from heaven on the heads of the Israeli soldiers that shot me.

People can wrap it up as 'bringing democracy' but to me it's foreign interference, and that's NOT self determination.

I don't support underhanded means or actions.

These innocent people in Gaza, notwithstanding having been bombarded and starved, etc. over the last 2 years, are being persecuted by an evil organisation that wants to kill them and their families.

Helping them has nothing to do with Israel's crazy Messianic ambitions, it is simply a humanitarian action and the right thing to do.

But I never spoke here about democracy or self determination - this is about saving lives, and indeed allowing the poor Gazans in question a measure of self determination!

I have no problem with "foreign interference" - Australia itself should have done the same. It did so with ISIS and Hamas is no different.

Nothing to do with Israel or whatever else it did - arming these helpless people so they can defend themselves is a good deed, like every boy-scout should perform at least once a day.

Even if arming them was covert, saving innocent lives justifies it.
This is not about "opponents", but about innocent people who would otherwise be executed by an evil regime. It is not "releasing" either - those Gazan families are free to do as they like with the weapons they received.
