Millions will see Trump's prosecution as illegitimate
and any conviction as unjust. This will further erode
public confidence in the American judicial system and the
principle of equal justice under law.

There is no evidence of Trump's passing classified
information to any foreign governments or intelligence
services.

According to The Washington Post - there's another risk -
Trump might be acquitted. All it takes is one juror and
Trump walks.

If that happens then the Justice Department will have
single-handedly handed the Presidency to Donald Trump.
We're asked to consider that implication for the US
Government and political system.

Biden could easily fix this problem by pardoning Trump.

mhaze,
It's not just the Hunter Biden laptop on it's own.
It's the fact the FBI already had a whistleblower inside Burisma and allegations of corruption including voice recordings of Biden himself, and that these allegations of Biden's corruption were provable from the data on Hunters laptop.

And it's not just the US 'justice' system.
They're just a part of the web of people known as the Deep State.

Foxy,
"Millions will see Trump's prosecution as illegitimate and any conviction as unjust."

In many ways it would be unjust.
As mhaze has pointed out, Trumps opponents aren't prosecuted when they've commit the same offenses.
- That makes the motive for Trump being charged political in nature, not criminal.
FYI, they found classified documents left unsecured in Bidens car, amongst other places.
Secondly, as discussed above, the FBI knew of Bidens corruption prior to the last election, and they forced social media companies to censor the story, to influence the mid term election in Biden's favour.

So takeaways are Biden should never have been running for office, because he was embroiled in corrupt foreign business and political dealings which was already known to the FBI at that time;
Secondly, that means that Trump should still be Commander in Chief.

"Having Trump go on trial is setting a bad precedent which
could eventually lead to Presidents of both parties going
after their political enemies."
- And lead to a civil war.

But honestly that would be exactly what America deserves.
- Maybe not the people though, just the corrupt leadership class.
But just like in Ukraine, it would be the innocent people who do the killing and dying.
While the leadership sits back unharmed and getting rich, and bugging out to their 4 million euro beachfront homes in Spain.

Let's be real, Trump & Biden are way too old to be POTUS no matter what the outcome re legal matters.

I think pardoning Trump if he is convicted would show that some people are above the law. Ford pardoning Nixon was wrong. One can claim that that sort of pardoning is healing because it avoids resentments and recriminations. I think the principle that no one is above the law is worth having a few resentments and recriminations. Clinton was not convicted for his misdeeds although I think he should have been. The fact that some get away with doing wrong should not be a reason for others not to be called to account.

My husband watching the news this morning tells me
that according to the American media - it was Trump's
camp that has fabricated and influenced all this fuss
in order for him to stand trial to garner sympathy
so that he'd get elected.

Crazy - right?
