I too was amazed about the order of australia. I started to wonder how the whole thing worked and was told that all that is involved is someone nominating you. I think it suxs Botoxia hasn't even completed that many oz movies. I think Cate Blanchett does more for the oz entertainment industry.

Well, it would be interesting to learn just who did nominate her... I wouldn't be too surprised if it turned out to be her personal assistant, or a PR agent. But in the world of entertainment and corporate business as i mentioned before,it is a question of you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Celebs want the publicity of course, government and organizational heads want the attention it draws, so they give the awards to someone rich or famous. The real people, who are out there working harder for humanitarian needs, 24/7, wont get as recognized, wont get the headlines, do that bubble headed and frivilous actors get the photo ops., because shallow sychophants throw designer clothes at them and donate thousand dollar jewelry, so they can get them advertised... and on and on, they all just feed off each other in their make believe fantasy world of decadent over indulgence. Kidman fit right in that world... or at least she did.

Maclen, the interesting thing is that it did actually say in the Sydney Morning Herald report that she had been offered to have the award presented privately but she wanted to receive it publicly 'so that she could hear other peoples' stories.'Yeah. Right.
Her publicist would have set it al up. And BTW, her publicist goes to a tarot reader for advice. Fact.

SKE LOL! Good on AM for writing that letter. From one photo I saw she was dressed like a girl with a ponytail and red ribbon, her top appeared to be have little puffy sleeves. YUCK I thought she was a fashion icon. But then again her speech was all about when she was a little girl so she had to play up to that- giggling and performing, trying to win a few more public votes.
