I haven't seen the perfume commercial, but have seen the pictorial ads. The expression on her face makes me think that Nicole's just realised that it's a perfume ad and not a film. I simply couldn't sit through a 'making of' of a perfume ad...is it as annoying as Moulin Rouge in cinematic style?

Whether or not 'everyone' loves 'our Nic' because she embodies some relatively universal desire in western society to be all that a glam movie star is, she is a carefully manufactured product. The person that Nicole Kidman is - unless one is part of a no-doubt treasured inner sanctum of confidantes - remains completely open to debate if one really wants to spend one's time on the subject. Clearly a lot of people like the product, but I'm just as happy not to buy it in the same way that I'm aware of their split but am not interested in why 'Brad and Jen' have gone their separate ways. Might be interested in one of those 'nic off' buttons, though...

Couldn't agree more. I don't know ANYBODY, who knows ANYBODY who can stand her. Who are these people that are claiming she is a legend? And why? For being vacuous? For selling some tedious story to the tabloid to promote her latest overrated film.

Anybody who saw "The Hours" will know that Julianne Moore was far more deserving of accolades that "our nic". All this "omigod, she's got a fake nose, quick give her an award" stuff makes me sick. Awards should be based on performance, not who's kept themselves in the headlines with meaningless promotional photoshoots.

As for "NSW Person of the Year", or whatever it is called.. Does she even live in Australia? Let alone spend much time in NSW? Last I heard, she lives in the states. I haven't seen her doing much for NSW lately. Have you?

Does anyone else feel the buttoned down persona of "our nic' is a mask to hide an ambitious aggresive grasper. It didn't take her long to latch onto tom cruise and use him to further her career, and as soon as she had made inroads into hollywood and milked him for all he was worth (promotion wise) she split. I suspect the "darling" she puts across hides a right harridan (look at the eyes "windows to the soul"). But we all know the gullible public feast on comic book characters, having to deal with a real person Re: emotional, confused, tired, angry, happy etc would mean having to extend them selves beyond the narrow consumer diktat so prevelant today.

I thinks it's disgusting how she smokes in public.

Adrianna I couldn't agree more, geez you have even completely insulted a die hard fan (I suggest changing your address, you really can't get through to those people and I think there's talk of a lynching) But seriously folks how can any sane person defend Nicole Kidman, I know it's hard to pin point exactly why we don't like her but let me give you a hand. Cast your mind to last week, in a 3rd page big picture article of a Sydney tabloid, we see Nic and her two kids, now I haven't seen them pedalled out since Nic and Tom were together and a completely devoted couple (ha!). Now I don't usually read those articles but there was something alluring about Nicole talking about parenting, by the end of the article I was almost nauseous and sad for those kids, the comments she made sounded like someone who hadn't even changed a daiper, let alone trying to understand her children's emotions, it sounded like oh these kids are great they are such a novelty. I won't go on except to say she ain't good looking (bag o bones) she can act but she ain't fantastic (her only ever believable role was Deadcalm), she has the depth of a birdbath, and she comes off as a condescending twit without a clue.
