By Guy Hallowes, published 3/5/2021

Currently the developed world's response is just to try to prevent migrants from entering their territories.

Yes Cherful, it is forbidden for a moslem to hold another moslem as a slave.
Slaves used to convert and were then freed.
Also when slavers appeared they realised if they became moslems they
would not be captured.
There is whole stack of rules about how to treat slaves in sharia law.
Most of them are aimed at not reducing their value.
It covers such things as the children of slaves are also slaves and
are owned by their parents owner.
Because the Koran approves of holding slaves, it is legal in Islamic countries.

Seems holding Christians as slaves was not a problem for other Christians. My Great Great Grandmother was such a slave. Born on the British ruled island of Mauritius in 1824 to a 16 year old slave girl and fathered most likely by her 42 French master. My GGG was found guilty of attempted murder of her mistress at the age of 9, along with her 13 year old cousin, and sentenced to transportation for life to the colony of NSW. BTW being under the age of 16 the two girls escaped the gallows, British justice at the time.

Shonkyminister,

Idi Amin did indeed come to power through a coup in 1971, with British backing. Amin had been in the British Colonial Army, during his reign of terror the British supplied a monthly load of luxury goods such as scotch whiskey and cigars, etc to Amin for distribution to cronies and army generals to help him hold on to power. 1979 seen the overthrow of the Butcher of Uganda, in the same year the Butch of the Falklands, Margaret Thatcher came to power in Britain.

it's obvious some warped want us to believe that more wrongs now will eventually make the past right !
I can't see how but it certainly is argued that way !
Some used to argue here in Australia that acknowledgement of past wrongs will solve the problems of the present. So, an official apology was given, backed up by billions of Dollars worth of goods & services & generous salaried public positions provided by many through hard work & ingenuity yet we still haven't accomplished settlement of the issues.
Why not ? Because quite a number of descendants of the perpetrators will not let the truth slow down a bandwagon & cause the collapse of a rather lucrative deceit industry !

There is a very good movie about Idi Amin. “Called the Last King Of Scotland.”

It is a true story told by a young male Doctor who was held hostage by Amin for a long time and not allowed to leave the country. Amin forced the Dr to look after his medical complaints.
The young Doctor, went to Africa with noble ideas of helping Africa who he believed had been saved from the British, now the British had left and Amin had been heralded as the salvation of Africa. A kind and wise leader.

In reality Amin had control of the news that was allowed to be printed about his administration. He was in fact a cruel, murderous dictator, but the outside world had no idea of this, for a few years, until this Doctor managed to escape and exposed the real story.

He was very lucky to escape, Amin found out he had gone and he escaped only after some very tense planning and evasion and some horrible murders of people who had helped him.

The young Doctor went over as an idealist, but learned the truth about Amin and his military regime. I recognised in the movie the part where he came home and the media were interviewing him about his claims of being held prisoner by Amin. I had seen it on the news at the time, but never really knew the story behind it until I saw the movie.

Amin was not going to let him leave the country because the people in Britain and the world had no idea of the reality of the situation in Africa.

Thank you Paul, for that little potted history.

Obviously you gravitate to your My Great Great Grandmother's ethnicity rather than your My Great Great Grandfathers. This explains your anti white racism so often displayed here.

Pauliar,

You can't stop lying. First, you claim that Idi was colonially appointed then when called out again, you claim that he came to power with British backing which is also bollocks.

As for the British luxury goods, there is no indication that they were not purchased by Amin on the open market.

The general assumption is that anything you post is a lie.
