I think the problem for people like Paul and a few others here is that they hate their supposed enemies with such vehemence that they cannot see any good in the foe at all.

People of a gentler disposition recognise all aspects of their foe both good and bad. Yes Hitler was evil but at least until 1943 he was also a genius. Yes Putin is evil, but declaring the Donbass provinces independent was a clever move. That's all Trump said. It was a clever move undone by the subsequent invasion but nontheless.
