Hi Paul,

It looks like your COVID 19 - vaccine did its job.
It provided strong protection against serious
illness, hospitalization and death. It also made
it less likely that you passed the virus on to others
which means your decision to get vaccinated was a
good one.

mhaze,

I have no wish to continue this discussion with you.
Your ignorance covers this forum like a blanket, and
there's scarcely a hole in it anywhere.

I don't have the time or the crayons to explain things
to you.

Drug Patents have a specific lifespan and when they expire the drugs can be manufactured and sold by others unless they are found to have a use other than that for which they were originally manufactured.

Here's a few examples of how existing drugs were later found to have a surprising side-effect and later repatented and remarketted under new names.

There was a drug used to treat high eye pressure and enhance eyelash growth that contained a compound that was found to treat baldness.
There was another used to treat arthritis that was found to be beneficial for treating heart disease.

This is because they contained specific ingredients that had unplanned results.

However the most popular was one originally used to dilate heart blood vessels and contained an ingredient called Sildenafil. This was rebranded and relaunched as Viagra.

(I suspect another benefit was it can be given to old men in nursing homes to stop them rolling out of bed at night ;)

If Ivermectin and Hyroxy were really as effective as some "claim" they would certainly be on the market by now with companies falling over each other to identify the active ingredient.

Also from above, the vaccinated can indeed still contract COVID but will have a lighter viral load and are thus less likely to pass it onto others.

Hi Foxy,

Agree 100%, if the only benefit is a milder dose of infection for the majority then vaccination is of extreme value. Avoiding serious illness, hospitalization and in many cases death is the name of the game. Those choosing not to be vaxxed are playing Russian roulette with their life. Omi virus seems to be a plus, in fact almost a good thing in being naturally less severe when combined with vaccination. The danger is X variant appears and it's extremely deadly, that we don't want.

I know a lot of these anti-vaxxers think by doing so they are being loyal to their měssiah Dangerous Doctor Donald, but even DDD was not anti-vaxx, just crazy.

Paul1405,
yes & impact on the lives of others. They should have to sign a declaration that they'll not clog the hospital system when they get COVID-19 !

Gee rache it's just as well all these vaccinated people are less likely to pass covid on to others, or those fully vaccinated flying in could bring a new strain, & we would then have an explosion of cases of the new strain passed on to others.

Well that's not working then is it?

mhaze,
Since Foxy is unwilling to continue, I'll explain:

Your logic is flawed because you have made an analog to digital conversion error.
Biology isn't boolean!
Being double vaccinated doesn't give you COMPLETE protection against catching covid, but it reduces your chances of catching it. And if double vaxxed people do catch it, they become contagious, but neither as highly contagious nor remaining contagious for as long as the unvaxxed.

Therefore getting the vaccine does protect others to a significant (albeit incomplete) extent.
