Morrison probably thinks he's scored a political March kicking the anti-vaxxer Novak Djokovic out of the country for failing to get vaccinated. All's well, Novak can take his racket and go home. Given a wild card entry into Australia by as yet unidentified Vic government medical panel, seems on the health grounds that he plays great tennis. They didn't count on the ever vigilant ScoMo, no virus will ever get past ScoMo, no matter how small it is.

Lets look at the Omicron virus in Australia. Frankly it's out of control, every where except WA. Poly's like to give big shout outs these days so lets give one to Mark McGowan for keeping all those sandgroppers safe, well at least for this week.

How did we come to be in this out of control situation with Omicron, two words MORRISON/PEROTTET. Between the pair they have managed the biggest public health failure Australia has seen thus far with Covid.

Get vaxxed, get boosted, get the virus.

Hi Paul,

So who stuffed up?

Djokovic had a visa to get to Australia.
He clearly boarded an aircraft with Australian-issued
credentials. So who gave them to him?
He had a right to land here.

Someone's got some explaining to do - especially when
there are so many restrictions in place on the travel
of vaccinated Australians. Is sport exempt from the
restrictions? Please explain.

And what we now have is a tennis player being deported.
Not sure how this is going to help the thousands of
Aussies discovering they've been infected by the virus
or the many others who can't get tested. I don't think
that any of them are going to feel safer because
Novak Djokovic has been deported.

A cursory review of media on this matter indicates,
1- An incorrect visa was applied for.
2- Medical exemption was invalid.
3- ScoMo has been a beacon of consistency and integrity yet again.

Irrespective of what to believe, how was a Visa granted in the first place?
This smells like a duck, quacks like a duck, no valid visa duck

I read somewhere Djokovic has had & recovered from the virus. If so he is therefore less capable of carrying the virus & less likely to be able to infect anyone than any one double or triple vaccinated with any of the currently approved concoctions. In fact some research says he is as safe an those vaccinated in the old way for many bad diseases..

If anyone actually knows the facts on this please advise. My understanding is as above, in which case there is no reason for him, or other recovered from an infection to ever be vaccinated. This tends to support that the demand that everyone, including those recovered from the disease, to be vaccinated is for some reason with no connection with anyone's health.

Something is rotten somewhere!

A quick look at this seems to reveal his basis for his claimed exemption is that he has contracted Covid within the last 6 months.

That would make it twice.

I think fellow tennis player Nadal put it well.

“I went through the Covid, I have been vaccinated twice. If you do this, you don’t have any problem to play here. That’s the only clear thing,” he said in Melbourne after winning his first singles match on the ATP Tour since August.

“The only for me clear thing is if you are vaccinated, you can play in the Australian Open and everywhere, and the world in my opinion have been suffering enough to not follow the rules.

“He made his own decisions, and everybody is free to take their own decisions, but then there are some consequences,” he added of Djokovic.

“Of course I don’t like the situation that is happening. In some way I feel sorry for him.

“But at the same time, he knew the conditions since a lot of months ago, so he makes his own decision.

“The only thing that I can say is I believe in what the people who know about medicine says, and if those people say that we need to get vaccinated, we need to get the vaccine.”
