Various businesses have different forms to record one’s visit as well as the phone/camera system, but I see no recording at all at petrol stations.

Petrol stations would seem to be high risk areas yet I haven’t been asked to do anything, perhaps it’s just local inertia.

Thoughts?

Dear Is Mise,

It seems about 90% are signing in at our local servo. I suppose it is mainly in and out for most people. But they really all should be signing in.

I have wondered whether they might use EFTPos cards to track people down from a certain time period. Perhaps it is a privacy thing.

Is Mise,

Many petrol stations do take people's details.
I'm sure that with time things will eventually
change and they will all do it.

Signing in to allow infection tracing is a simple but extremely helpful system. I am surprised that of the 8 businesses in my local village, it is only the hardware store that is doing it.

The use of the Covid app, has become too difficult for some where I observe many not signing in at K-mart, Coles, Woolies etc in Brisbane. Despite the law, shops are not enforcing sign in, a lazy false sense of security, which may bite us on our arses soon.

The other problem is vaccine hesitancy, we should have moved on from the bad publicity and terrible government communications, supply and roll-out disasters and now work on getting 95%+ fully vaccinated.

The situation in NSW due to the Gladys virus, shows when two incomperdent governments, state and federal collide, the result is government murder of hundreds of citizens.

To counter expected anti-lockdown protests in the Melbourne CBD on Saturday, the Andrews government is imposing a daytime curfew in the city, a ring of steel – key access roads blocked by crash barriers – surrounding the city centre, cancelling, or rerouting public transport, and having the heart of Melbourne swarm with police. Presumably with capsicum spray, tear gas and rubber bullets on hand.
