The fact is Laming can sit in the parliament as a "leper" ostracised be the members, even those of his own party. Simply sitting there with his snout in the taxpayer trough, sucking up as much of the swill as he can, something he has done for years. Should he refuse to resign, and sit on the cross bench, then the government can refuse to accept his vote. The easy way is for a government member to vote the opposite way to Laming thus neutralising his vote, something Morrison would be loth to do considering his government would be in the minority. Labor of course should refuse to grant Laming a pair, that is when Laming's not there his Labor pair does not vote as well, its only a gentlemen's agreement and the Coalition in the past has refused Labor members a pairing at times. Of course the noble Andrew, the "up-skirter", could simply resign from parliament and force a by-election.
