Welcome to the forum
Where anachronism rules
Where tribal antiquated oldies
Think that they are cool

The forum used to be
An interesting place
Today it's full of nasties
And postings in-your-face

Back in their good old days
They went to pubs to fight
Today what with COVID
They can't even drive

So they come onto the forum
To vent their little spleens
Against the anti-Trumpers
And other "vile extremes".

These guys are Trump supporters
Male, white, and supreme
Self-proclaimed true Trumpeters
Blow-hards, full of steam!

Chris Lewis said- "Yes, I am a bit cynical. I too want the Democrats to win, but I also recognise that the Democrats, like Labor here, are very good at promising too much. The rise of Trump shows this is not possible, so I will be interested to see what unravels over next four years, assuming democrats do well."

Answer- Sadly you wouldn't be working at Australian National University supporting Trump. We probably can't take the opinion of the ANU with objective credibility.

The ANU and the universities have been at the vanguard of national corruption for a while. I believe that you personally try to be objective but in the current (worse than polarized) climate this is impossible. Some in the past have rationalized working within a corrupt organization by telling themselves that it is easier to do something from within than from without.

Something needs to be done about the "Communist Salami Cutters". The first step is to close the borders and dis-infranchise the corrupters.
Now is the time for self sufficiency- financial and consumer independence. Don't resource the enemies surrounding us- they feed off us in order to destroy us- through the organizations who give jobs to our enemies- through the enemies who buy stocks in Australian companies such as Union Superannuation.

Union's didn't have to become Communist.

We need to rebuild society from the top down ensuring that Universal Globalists especially Communist ones never subvert it again.

Perhaps government should be returned to one- of the people, by the people, for the people. The alternative is creeping universalist principles designed to tyrannize us all in the name of Big "Gay" Brother (or Sister).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salami_tactics#Origins

"1940s Stalinist dictator Mátyás Rákosi Hungary.[2][3] Rákosi claimed he destroyed the non-Communist parties by "cutting them off like slices of salami."[3] By portraying his opponents as fascists (or at the very least fascist sympathizers), he was able to get the opposition to slice off its right-wing, then its center, then most of its left-wing, so that only fellow travellers willing to collaborate with the Communist Party remained in power"

Yes CM, I worked at ANU.

I did not end well.

I have a couple of matter currently before the OAIC and FWC.

Chris Lewis-

I'm very sorry that things didn't work out well for you at the ANU. I hope you get compensation. Hopefully there will be more clarity around the right to free speech in academia and how to deal with protesting communist students without making the situation worse.

People in democratic society have the right to protest perhaps but the university still has business to conduct on their private property. I guess John Stewart Mill's negative freedom idea may hold in this case.

Maybe the university can cancel the courses of students that become too disruptive on their property and if necessary have them removed from the campus by the police. I'm sure the communists will obtain video footage of all the police excesses.

But universities aren't the only place where one can get cancelled. Banks have even been closing accounts of those with certain politics. I would think this would be something for the equal opportunity commission- but it seems they are only interested in certain ideological positions.

For me the time has come where it's necessary to give comment on public issues from the shadows.

Many talk about the light- but I'm learning to appreciate the darkness.

It's still not safe but it's safer.

I read your thesis on the Howard Government and Public Opinion. Thanks for providing it- I found it a relatively factual unbiased account. Kudos
