Foxy,

She was appointed to the Senate not elected by the voters of Victoria.

None the less she's doing a great job, I really liked how she gave PETA the message.

Thorpe lost the state seat she had won in 2018 to a Labor candidate. She has NOT won anything since then. She was APPOINTED to fill a vacancy in the Senate as is usual practice. Only a moron would not understand that.

I have said all along that yes - she was appointed
to the FEDERAL Senate seat by the vacancy caused
by former leader of the Greens Richard Di Natale's
resignation - in June 2020.

However, Thorpe WON the seat of Northcote at the 2017
by-election in the state of Victoria. She served in that
Senate 2017 - 2018.

She is the first Aboriginal woman to represent the state
in the Senate in 2017. And she is now the first Aboriginal
parliamentarian from the Greens in the
Federal Senate.

Some people still don't seem to get it.

The Forums red necked racists brigade are beside themselves. Here we have an Aboriginal, a woman, and she happens to be a Green, she's in their parliament. What next they ask, will there be gays in government. A shocking state of affairs for the lads?

One of the lads put money into a failed political party and got ripped off! What a bright spark was he!

Prod Boy Jose', With things looking rather grim for you All American Boys, I asked if you were planning anything BIG, you didn't answer.

Paul, I am sure you get the point, Foxy tried to make out she was
elected to the senate, because Ms Thorpe was previously an elected
Victorian parliament member.
I do not think Foxy understands the nature of
the states and the status of the Federation Parliament.
Which surprises me as she has been around here long enough to have
learnt all the ins and outs of the constitution.
That Ms Thorpe had previously been a member of the Victorian
parliament had no legal bearing on her being accepted as a senator.
I hope she makes a mark as a senator for the benefit of aborigines.
