The Senator is pro-hunting and the sustainable harvesting (killing) of animals for human use, even protected Australian fauna.

Good on her!

errrr Bazz,

You need to get your facts right.

Lidia Thorpe's record speaks for itself. She has
been actively involved with the Aboriginal
communities for a very long time and has achieved
a great deal for them. She is not out to "rort"
anyone least of all her own people. Her grandmother
Alma Thorpe was the founder of the Victorian
Aboriginal Health Service.

For your information - Lidia Thorpe WON the seat of
Northcote at the 2017 by-election in Victoria.
She was sworn in as
a Member of Parliament on 28th November 2017 and
delivered her first speech to the Assembly the following
day.

It was in June 2020 that Lidia Thorpe was pre-selected by
the Victorian Greens members to fill the FEDERAL Senate
vacancy caused by former leader Richard Di Natale's
resignation.

She is the first Aboriginal woman to firstly represent
Victoria in the Senate and is the first Aboriginal
FEDERAL parliamentarian for the Greens.

You're welcome.

Thorpe was appointed, not voted in by anybody. Even under normal circumstances, Senate candidates are a shoo in if their party puts them in the right position on the ticket at normal election times. They don't have to work for it.

As for appearances, I think her tan is a least as good as Stan Grant's.

Thorpe will open her gob to badmouth everyone not like herself; nobody will take any notice, and she will soon pass from the public eye.

Absolute BS!

Thorpe WON the seat of Northcote at the 2017 by-election.
She was not appointed.

She was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on the 28th
November 2017 and gave her first speech to the
Assembly the following day. She was the first Aboriginal
woman to represent Victoria in the Senate.

It was not until June of this year (2020) that Thorpe was
preselected by the Victorian Greens members to fill the
FEDERAL Senate vacancy caused by former leader Richard Di
Natale's resignation. She is the first Aboriginal FEDERAL
parliamentarian for the Greens.

As for her fading out of the public eye?

That is something that nobody can predict. However her
record of activity and involvement in Aboriginal matters
and issues suggests that her disappearing out of sight is
highly unlikely. She comes from a family of activists.
And her record speaks for itself.

Bravo!
