would genuinely reelect a man despite his dangerously
erratic foreign policy forays; his destructive trade
policies, his employment of toadies and cronies, and
family, and his supplicancy to autocrats and dictators.
Many initially thought after the 2016 election that
US institutions, administration officials and advisers
could sand paper down the worse elements of Trump.
It was not to be. The leopard's spots could not be
changed. We can all hope that he won't win - but we
should never underestimate his capacity to cheat and
pander to the base instincts and resentment of enough
people.
This man should not get re-elected.
1) Not after these years of racism.
2) Not after declaring US fallen soldiers as "losers".
3) Not after trying to cripple the Post Office.
4) Not after calling those who rallied alongside
neo-Nazis "very fine people" and asking the "Proud
Boys" a violent extremist organisation to "Stand
back and stand by".
5) Not after putting children in cages.
6) Not after he had demonstrators tear gassed so he
could wave a Bible around in Lafayette Square.
7) Not after his inaptitude helped bring more than
200,000 deaths from COVID.
8) Not after refusing to commit to a peaceful transfer
of power.
9) Not after lie, after lie, after lie.
Because the moral arc of the universe bends towards
justice - doesn't it?
