The first US Presidential debate will be broadcast on SBS TV Wednesday 11am-12.30pm our (Australian Eastern Standard) time, 30th September.

As I think the candidates are running neck and neck, winning this debate by a wide margin, is critical for Biden's shot at the Presidency.

The debate format is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_debates#Format

If it runs similar to the 2016 debates Trump will interrupt Biden often.

This will exploit Biden’s tendency to stutter and forget what he was going to say, when under pressure.

The debate will be followed by two US shows on SBS analysing the debate performance of these two candidates.

All politicians are liars, so what they say is of no use in deciding who you are going to vote for. You are either a right winger a left winger, and you vote accordingly. Who wins elections is decided by 5% of the population. Most people always vote the same way irrespective of the lies and bullshite put out by candidates. Debates are for children in private schools where students are still taught the rudiments of their language and how to use it.

debates mean little. The lying liberal media always awards the 'winner' to regressives whether Gillard, Shorten , Clinton.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the information.

I for one will definitely be watching to see how
things pan out. It will be interesting to see who
actually makes an attempt at least at trying to answer
the questions asked and who evades and blusters as
per usual. This is our chance to see American politics
in action. Wouldn't miss it!

Hi Foxy

Crossing fingers for Biden.

Trump's lack of released Tax Returns likely to be major point in debate. :

Given Biden's last minute Tax Return Release:

"Hours before debate, Biden releases tax returns and urges Trump to do so too" By John Whitesides, September 30, 2020 http://www.smh.com.au/world/north-america/hours-before-debate-biden-releases-tax-returns-and-urges-trump-to-do-so-too-20200930-p560h1.html

"Crossing fingers for Biden", eh Pete?

Why? Why do you prefer someone who is obviously 'away with the fairys' as my mother used to say before she went away with them herself? Whoever the American President is will make no difference to you. The biggest threat to Australia is our own government and opposition.

For all his faults, Trump put the US back on its feet after the idiots Bush and Obama. He has done enough internationally to win him three Nobel prizes. But, you prefer a mental defective.
