SR wrote: "We were discussing the Case Fatality Ratio and you attempted in your response to swing it to the Infection Fatality Ratio. Two quite different things. Quite dishonest of you of course but nothing new."
We weren't discussing the CFR. We were discussing the rate "that was originally fed into models to achieve the early dire death numbers.” Now I know that numbers baffle you so you're just going to have to trust me that there is no way, zero, nada, that they feed CFR into models. Their models were bad, but not that bad. The notion is beyond hilarious. Yet there you are calculating the CFR and saying that was used in the models. I say the number used was an IFR of ~0.3% and and then you, moronically, try to say that's wrong by calculating the CFR. Let me try to make it simpler for you. If I say the temperature today is 20C you can't disprove that by saying its 68F. BTW Can't help but notice that you're pretending to not notice all the monumental errors you made in this thread alone. Posted by mhaze, Friday, 11 September 2020 5:15:44 PM

Dear mhaze,
Oh come on mate, that is a rather lowball effort. This was the speech from the WHO Director-General from where your figure is derived. “Globally, about 3.4% of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected.” http://www.who.int/dg/speeches/detail/who-director-general-s-opening-remarks-at-the-media-briefing-on-covid-19---3-march-2020 I repeat this is exactly what you said at the time; “At the outset, WHO was giving a fatality rate of 3.4%. It was this number, which is now shown to be completely wrong, that was originally fed into models to achieve the early dire death numbers.” You are trying to intimate now you accepted their figure but it was misused. However when I said “Victoria has recorded 701 deaths for 19728 cases giving it a current case fatality rate of over 3.5%.” You retorted with; “You CAN'T calculate the IFR in the way you've done it.” Even though I had clearly said “current case fatality rate”. You either can't comprehend what you have read, or you are being deliberately obtuse to try and get out of accepting you stuffed up. Just so we can set the record straight, were WHO quantifying the CFR or the IFR? Posted by SteeleRedux, Friday, 11 September 2020 5:46:49 PM

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the light relief. We need to laugh. I made a boo boo. I should have said - we're all cremated equal. Anyway, here's a few more on a variety of subjects: 1) Familiarity breeds attempt. 2) Insomnia is only mind over mattress. 3) Doctor feel my purse. 4) I'm a member of the weeper sex. 5) Hold your head high and your middle finger higher. 6) My middle-finger salutes you. 7) Jesus loves you, everyone else thinks you're an ar!se hole. That will do for now. (smile). Posted by Foxy, Friday, 11 September 2020 6:09:09 PM
