A 'tu quoque' argument ? I'm certainly not suggesting that Trumpf and the US administration are the only half-wits in the world, Europe is not far behind. But of course, Europe is made up of many disparate, semi-independent countries, much like the US with its multitude of states and counties, so co-ordinating policy there must be like herding cats. Maybe, if Europe was one single, co-ordinated unit, the death rate could have been far lower. Discuss :)
But it's not too late for both Europe and the US to learn from New Zealand and Australia, on how to control the virus killing their citizens. Sooner or later, they will have to come back to hard lock-downs, comprehensive testing and tracking, isolation, reserving hospital space for virus cases, etc. But so much economic damage has been done already while so much time has been wasted facing up to the real issues.
