Ah, for the good old days. It was not uncommon at my high school to be lined up and caned as a class group. That included the girls too. It was even handed.

I never saw more than three administered.

If you had gone to an all boys especially Catholic school you probably would have got six lashes with the old one-eyed trouser snake.

Not the sort of thing one would want to run home to tell mum about. And a lot didn't as we now all know.

What is so difficult about understanding the difference between discipline & punishment ?
