about his deportation to Auschwitz in 1944, provide the
human element."

"Such witnesses convey what it felt like to be the target
of genocide. Taken together, the documents, photographs,
film, and perpetrator AND survivor testimony at postwar
trials provided an inescapable and undeniable
documentation of the Holocaust."
