Hi o sung wu,
If I were a betting man I'd back your assertion rather than my proposal but as they say, never give up ! I have the strange feeling that the children of the Y generation will be way more switched on than those of the baby boomers, overseas that is.. However, I only have some OLO posters to judge by here. One just has to look at the young talent in Russia & China, makes our lot look like total disasters looking for a place to happen. Is it not true the numbers are very much less
Belly, Although youth crime is a very serious problem, there's a far more sinister & dangerous problem bearing down on us. It's the mindless stupidity pedalled by self-serving baby boomer & gen Y bureaudroids within the education system that is ruining the vulnerable of the young. Thankfully, there are new young coming up who can see the insanity of their BB & GY parents & they're the ones giving me hope for our society's future. It is painfully obvious that some Baby Boomers & Gen Y are utterly hopeless in parenting & it's that new generation that deserves way more than their insipid parents could ever hope for. A NS programme will give these young people the kick-off their nonsensical parents failed so miserably to provide. (nb Paul1405) Posted by individual, Saturday, 8 June 2019 7:46:14 PM

Paul,
"The weapon used on Tuesday was a prohibited 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. Northern Territory Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw said it "may have been stolen as far back as 1997". Such a weapon should have been surrendered or destroyed under the government crackdown on firearms at the time, experts have said." http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-48522342 In light of your previous comments would you care to give a reference to back up your post? Hi there INDIVIDUAL -
I'm sorry old friend; you're arguing from a purely commonsense point of view. Most of us can identify the real issues associated with violence in society. One doesn't need to be a policeman, a prison officer or a member of the judiciary to possess basic common sense, and to appreciate this nightly savagery, in many parts of our big Cities, is burgeoning. And worse, it's becoming more merciless & ferocious. And often rapidly deteriorating from a modest bit of 'push and shove' into a full-scale Assault. Ascending to one of ABH, malicious wounding and worse, attempt. Murder, to full-scale Homicide. When I first joined the job, most fella's if they had a beef with one another in the pub, it would be taken outside into the carpark, and a decent ol' stink would ensue. Today, you'd be ill-advised to take any disagreement into the carpark, where you'd be likely met, with several demented idiots with iron bars. Such is our 'enlightened,' educated society - I'm f..ked if I know any more? I reckon I've said all I can say on this topic. Thanks for raising it BELLY, it's worth discussing, as most of us fall within this demographic? Posted by o sung wu, Saturday, 8 June 2019 8:54:13 PM

I could build a case for our young highlighting those who have already made their mark in areas such as medicine science and much more
We however have bogged down in insulting [read the posts] our country all youth, and lost contact with the problem Why do the worst of youth gutless like, assault and rob the aged Why have our courts become a joke How do youth offenders become victims of a bad childhood But those they rob hurt teroris, become victims of their oppressors bad childhood? Are 20 percent of all population criminals
Is it not true the numbers are very much less
Then why, at the very time they are trying to learn their trade and build a life do we want to stop that
Convince me, the threads starter, the problem is that huge
If you can
