Labor keep giving gifts to the Liberals.

"ACTU national secretary Sally McManus has argued for months for a minimum wage that is 60 per cent of the median wage, a stance that would lift the weekly base rate from $695 to $852."

That is one way to get big business to give lots of money to the Liberals.

And they are going to need lots of money, while they look for another job! Today's 'Newspoll' has Labor increasing its lead to 54/46 over the wombats. The $2,000 per minute stunt, at taxpayers expense, of the Scum O' junket to Christmas Island shows how out of touch, and desperate this government is.

Scum O'...stop torturing yourself and call the election now!

Paul1405,
A competent manipulator is preferable to an incompetent do-gooder in a managing position !
Labor have proven beyond reasonable doubt over the decades that throwing away other peoples' money only works temporarily & only benefits a selected few !

Individual,

You're absolutely right.

Under the Liberals in Victoria we had the closure of
railways, schools, hospitals, mental institutions,
and more. Cuts, cuts, everywhere.
But hey we got "jobs for the boys," more CEOS in
government departments than were needed, we got the
"Grand Prix," and the Casino - who could want more?
Labor had to fix things. Then we got the scare-mongering
at the last election - and guess who got re-elected?
Labor!

The Greens contribution, Paul and Foxy how many will you sponsor?

This week the Greens announced their refugee policy. It includes allowing private citizens to sponsor refugees as part of its plan to increase Australia’s humanitarian intake by 10,000. In December, Labor also announced plans to increase the existing community sponsored refugee program by up to 5,000 places per year.

Australia’s little-known community support program (CSP) allows individuals, businesses or community organisations to fund and sponsor the travel and resettlement of refugees into Australia from overseas.

Australia’s current program began with the community proposal pilot in 2013. This provided 500 places, again from within Australia’s refugee and humanitarian program (which has a capped quota for each financial year). This meant the overall humanitarian intake didn’t increase under the pilot, but the government did save money. Community sponsors covered the cost of existing resettlement places for the first year as well as paying significant visa fees.

** That scheme is a joke if the refugee needs major surgery or something else costing lots of money guess who will pay, the taxpayer. **

Another good policy, its got my vote.

Australians claiming to be Aboriginal will be forced to undergo DNA testing to prove it under a One Nation proposal to crack down on welfare fraud

One Nation's New South Wales leader Mark Latham has taken aim at people who identify as indigenous, when they are not of Aboriginal heritage.

'Everybody hates a welfare rorter, especially in Aboriginal affairs,' he said.

'Australians are sick and tired of seeing people with blonde hair and blue eyes declaring themselves to be indigenous, when clearly they have no recognisable Aboriginal background and are doing it solely to qualify for extra money.'

In Australia, people can identify as indigenous to be given special treatment when applying for jobs in the public service or the ABC, as part of an affirmative action policy designed to promote one minority group.

They also qualify for special benefits, including Abstudy to fund university study or an apprenticeship, and can join an Aboriginal land council.

Mr Latham has proposed a law which would require Aboriginality to be determined by a DNA test showing someone has at least one full-blood Aboriginal grandparent, ending a system where Australians can self-identify as indigenous.

'The system of indigenous self-identification, declaring Aboriginality without any bloodline or DNA proof, has been open to widespread abuse,' he said.

'It is being used as a fraudulent way of cashing in on welfare benefits, special Aboriginal programs and land council largesse.'
