Early migrants wanted a better existence, the latest waves just want an easy life by way of a free ride.
Those who apply & pay many thousands of Dollars get rejected & lose their money whilst the free loaders get just about everything provided.
All thanks to the Labor content in the Public Service !

//In the fifties most of the people in Australia were British Australians// some of the fuddy-duddy brigade on here are sill in the fifties, the 1850's.

//All thanks to the Labor content in the Public Service!// More floggings required of Public Servants, but not the ones who pay you an undeserved fat pension every fortnight. Right Indy?

Canem Malum,

My family were invited to come to Australia by
the then Australian Government. My family were
Refugees. Displaced persons as a result of the
communist takeover of their country during WWII.

Their initial two-year contracts were the first
major contribution to Australia. They helped to solve
an acute labour shortage in Australia, especially in
outlying areas. They joined other refugees in the
rebuilding of Australia's capital structures that
wee to serve the nation for many decades to come.

Many of these refugees established building companies, new
factories, retail shops, service and repair centres
but I won't go into more details. Suffice to say - they
worked hard, raised their families, asked for nothing,
were fiercely independent, and contributed to this
country. Their children and grand-children have done
the same.

Canem Malum,

Just a small question - if You're so proud of your
British ancestry - why did you choose a moniker
such as "Canem Malum" instead of something more
British such as "Rule Britannia?"

Just asking.
