Paul1405 & Belly,
if you're as concerned about the state of the Nation then why not put forward suggestions in the Inequality thread ?
We all know that bureaucrats are the nucleus of incompetence, nothing else to add here that could help the betterment of the nation.

Ok, let's see if we can evoke some interest in this highly important topic.
Would the public service become integrity laden if public servants were to be banned from voting ?

A Trump style federal shutdown might help get rid of some of the bureaucrats.

ttbn,
that'd be a good thing but I'm afraid our bureaucats are so well paid they could afford a whole year off & then just walk back in again. What's need is a natural attrition system. Only replace those who retire & don't replace those who weren't of no benefit anyway. In any case don't hire any more.
This bureaucrat I know retired at 62 on $75,000/year & now works for an indigenous Council for $115,000/year. This kind of opportunity should not be created in the first place with taxpayers money. This person is literally denying another a job at our expense. I can't blame the person for grasping the opportunity but as I said this should not be allowed to be going on. Either work till retirement or take the money & run. Legal or not, double-dipping is crook.
